Priscilla Shirer Daily Devotional – November 01, 2026
Some mornings you wake up carrying more than your heart feels able to hold. Responsibilities pull at you from every direction, and somewhere deep inside you’re wondering if you still have what it takes to stand firm in your faith. Today, right where you are—in your kitchen, at your desk, or driving to work—God is inviting you to breathe, to lean in, and to remember that you are not walking this day alone. The same God who parted seas and shut the mouths of lions is present in your ordinary Monday, and He has fresh strength, hope, and direction just for you.
Anchored by a Quiet Word
“The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” (Exodus 14:14, NIV) At the edge of the Red Sea, God’s people were terrified. Behind them, an army; in front of them, impossible waters. God’s answer wasn’t a strategy meeting or an escape plan. It was an invitation: be still and watch what I will do. Today, this verse whispers the same truth to your anxious heart. You don’t have to fix everything, explain everything, or control everything. Being still doesn’t mean doing nothing; it means choosing to trust that God is at work even when you cannot see the outcome yet. The battle you’re facing—whether in your mind, your body, your home, or your finances—doesn’t rest on your shoulders alone. Your Father fights for you.
Walking Through the Day With Holy Courage
When life feels overwhelming, it’s easy to slip into survival mode—just pushing through, hoping to make it to bedtime. But God is inviting you to more than survival; He’s inviting you into partnership. Ask Him, “Lord, what step of obedience are You calling me to today?” Maybe it’s apologizing for harsh words. Maybe it’s making that doctor’s appointment you’ve postponed. Maybe it’s opening your Bible before you open your phone. Spiritual growth rarely comes through huge, dramatic moments; it’s usually formed in small, steady choices. As you invite the Holy Spirit into your schedule, He will reframe your to-do list into an assignment list—you are not just running errands, you’re carrying the presence of Christ everywhere you go.
Drawing Near in Faith and Surrender
Father, in the name of Jesus, I bring my faith to You just as it is. Some days it feels strong, other days it trembles, but today I choose to place it fully in You. Grow in me a deeper trust that does not depend on my feelings or the headlines around me. Teach me to hear Your voice above the noise of fear and doubt. Strengthen my desire to open Your Word, to pray continually, and to obey quickly. Forgive me for the times I’ve tried to handle spiritual battles with human effort alone. I surrender my plans, my expectations, and my timelines to You. Shape my character, refine my motives, and make me more like Jesus. Let my life today be a testimony that You are faithful, powerful, and present.
Covering Our Homes With Peace
Lord, I lift my family and loved ones to You. You see every tension, every silent hurt, every unspoken need. Step into our homes with Your peace that passes understanding. Heal broken communication between spouses, parents, and children. Guard our marriages with Your covenant love, and restore tenderness where hearts have grown cold. Surround our children and grandchildren with godly influences and protect them from lies that twist their identity. Fill our houses with forgiveness, kindness, laughter, and patience. Where there has been yelling, let there now be gentle words. Where there has been distance, create new closeness. Let Your presence dwell in our living rooms, our kitchens, our bedrooms—turn our homes into places where Your name is honored and Your love is felt every day.
Strength for Body, Mind, and Soul
Jesus, You are the Healer of our whole being. I bring my body, my emotions, and my mind to You. For every reader battling sickness, chronic pain, or fatigue, stretch out Your healing hand. Guide doctors, treatments, and decisions. Renew energy where exhaustion has settled in. For those walking through anxiety, depression, or inner turmoil, speak peace to the storm inside. Replace racing thoughts with Your steady truth. Teach us to care for our bodies as temples of the Holy Spirit—help us rest when we need rest, move when we need movement, and nourish ourselves with wisdom. Above all,
