Pastor Greg Laurie Daily Devotional – October 16, 2026: Holding On to Hope When You Feel Worn Out

If you’re feeling tired today—emotionally, spiritually, or even physically—you’re not alone. Many believers across our nation woke up this morning with a weight on their hearts: worries about children, medical reports, bills that don’t match the paycheck, or a future that feels blurred around the edges. Yet right in the middle of all of that, God is whispering to you, “I see you. I’m with you. I’m not done with your story.” Today’s devotional is meant to sit with you like a close friend and gently turn your eyes back toward the steady faithfulness of Jesus. As Pastor Greg Laurie so often reminds us, we don’t need a flawless faith—we just need a faithful God. And He’s here, right now, in this very moment.

Strength for the Weary Heart

“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:31 NKJV)

Isaiah’s words reach straight into exhausted souls. “Wait on the Lord” doesn’t mean passively doing nothing; it means leaning the full weight of your trust on Him, looking to Him with expectation. God promises that as you do this, He will renew your strength. Not just patch you up, but renew—give you fresh endurance, fresh courage, fresh hope. The same God who keeps the universe in motion is committed to carrying you through this day. When you feel like you can’t run anymore, He’ll help you walk. When walking feels like too much, He’ll lift you on eagle’s wings.

Walking Out Faith in the Everyday

Spiritual growth rarely happens in grand moments; it usually unfolds in the ordinary corners of life—on your commute, at your kitchen sink, in the doctor’s office, scrolling through emails. Today, choose one area where you tend to worry and deliberately place it in God’s hands. Whisper, “Lord, I trust You here,” and name the situation out loud. Open your Bible, even for five minutes, and ask Him to speak to you. When anxiety spikes, pause and breathe a simple prayer: “Jesus, be my strength.” These small, daily decisions to turn toward the Lord form the quiet backbone of a strong, resilient faith. God sees every choice to trust rather than panic, to pray instead of complain, to praise instead of despair—and He honors it.

Prayer for Deepening Faith and Steady Trust

Father, in Jesus’ name, I bring my faith to You—weak in some places, growing in others. Strengthen my trust in Your Word. Help me to believe Your promises more than my feelings or circumstances. Teach me to hear Your voice through Scripture and by Your Spirit. When doubts rise, remind me of Your past faithfulness in my life. Grow in me a love for prayer and a hunger for Your presence. May my faith not be based on what I see, but on who You are—unchanging, good, and completely trustworthy. Anchor my heart in Christ so that when the storms come, I will stand firm and not be moved.

Prayer Covering Home, Marriage, and Relationships

Lord, I lift up my family and all those I love. Bring Your peace into our home. Heal any tension, restore broken communication, and soften hearts that have grown distant. Protect marriages, draw husbands and wives closer to You and to each other, and let forgiveness flow freely. For children and grandchildren, surround them with godly influences, keep them from destructive choices, and let them encounter Your love in real and personal ways. Where there is division, bring unity. Where there is hurt, bring comfort. Make our homes places where Your presence is felt, Your name is honored, and Your love is seen in how we treat one another.

Prayer for Health, Healing, and Inner Peace

Heavenly Father, You are the Great Physician. I bring my body, mind, and emotions to You. For every ache, diagnosis, and hidden fear, I ask for Your healing touch. Give wisdom to doctors, nurses, and caregivers. Strengthen my immune system, renew my energy, and calm my nervous heart. Where anxiety, depression, or emotional wounds weigh me down, pour out Your peace that surpasses understanding. Remind me that my life and times are in Your hands. Help me to care for this body
