Lysa TerKeurst Daily Devotional June 01, 2026

If you woke up today carrying more questions than answers, you’re not alone. Maybe you’re trying to smile at work while your heart feels like it’s breaking at home. Maybe you’re quietly wondering if God really sees the tears you cried in the car, in the shower, or on your pillow last night. As you read these words, imagine the Lord gently placing His hand over yours, whispering, “I’m here. You don’t have to hold this day together by yourself.” Today’s devotional is an invitation to breathe again, to let hope slip back into places that feel numb, and to remember that God has not forgotten your story—especially the parts that hurt the most.

Anchor for a Weary Soul

“The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” (Exodus 14:14, NIV)
In this moment of Israel’s fear and confusion at the Red Sea, God didn’t ask His people to perform, impress, or prove their worth. He simply called them to be still and trust that He was already working on their behalf. When everything in you wants to rush, fix, control, and figure it out, this verse reminds you that the weight of the battle isn’t on your shoulders. Being still doesn’t mean doing nothing; it means choosing to rest your heart in the truth that God is already moving in the places you cannot see and solving problems you don’t yet understand.

When Trust Feels Like a Risk

Trusting God sounds beautiful in church but can feel terrifying on a Monday morning. Faith often asks us to loosen our grip on the very things we feel responsible to protect: our kids, our marriage, our bank account, our future. Yet the more we clutch, the more exhausted we become. Today, God is not shaming you for your fears; He is gently inviting you to place your worries into His capable hands, one concern at a time. You can say, “Lord, I don’t know how this will work out, but I choose to believe You are good to me, not just in theory, but in my real life.”
Practically, that might mean pausing before a difficult conversation to whisper, “Jesus, go before me.” It might look like turning off your phone for five minutes to read a verse and breathe deeply. Spiritual growth often happens in these small, quiet decisions—moments where you refuse to let anxiety write the narrative of your day and instead allow God’s promises to steady your heart.

Prayer for Deepening Faith and Steady Growth

Father, in Jesus’ name, I ask You to grow my faith beyond what I can see and feel today. When doubts shout louder than Your promises, teach me to lean into Your Word instead of my emotions. Help me to trust that You are working, even in the delays and detours. Strip away every lie that says I’m alone or abandoned. Replace fear with courage, confusion with clarity, and despair with a persistent hope. Stretch my faith so that I don’t just believe in You for eternity, but also trust You in the ordinary and difficult moments of this very day.

Prayer Over Home, Marriage, and Relationships

Lord, I surrender my family and relationships to You. Cover my home with Your peace. Heal broken communication, soften hardened hearts, and restore what has been worn down by stress, disappointment, or past wounds. Protect marriages from bitterness, resentment, and unfaithfulness. Surround my children, grandchildren, and loved ones with godly influences and wise choices. Where there is distance or misunderstanding between us, create new pathways of honest conversation and forgiveness. Let our homes in this nation be places where Your presence is welcome, where love is shown in everyday actions, and where Your grace keeps opening doors that hurt tried to slam shut.

Prayer for Health, Healing, and Inner Calm

Jesus, You are the Great Physician, and I bring my body, mind, and emotions to You. For every diagnosis, every ache, every sleepless night, and every anxious thought, I ask for Your healing touch. Strengthen my immune system, renew my energy, and help me make wise choices about rest, food, and movement. Calm the storms in my thoughts. Break the power of chronic worry, depression, and fear. Where I feel weak, be my strength. Where I feel broken, be my healer. Let Your peace guard my heart and my mind today, and give me a deep assurance that my life and health are
