The Believer’s Walk of Faith is made possible through the faithful support of partners and viewers of Bill Winston Ministries. Dr. Bill Winston teaches that there is a powerful spiritual principle called the law of confession. According to this biblical truth, what you continually speak will eventually shape the direction of your life. Many believers fail to recognize the connection between what they say and what they experience.

You can speak life, or you can speak death. Too often, people assume words are only sounds or empty noise. But according to Scripture, words are spiritual. Your spirit stores the words you continually speak and believe, and when pressure or attacks come, those words are what rise to the surface. That is why spiritual warfare often centers around your speech. The enemy seeks to influence your words, hoping you will speak fear, doubt, defeat, or anything contrary to what God has declared.

Every belief that did not come from God must eventually be uprooted. When your confession aligns with the Word of God, your life begins to align with His promises as well. Dr. Winston explains that spiritual laws govern natural laws just as surely as gravity governs the physical world. When God spoke the universe into existence, His words established and continue to sustain creation itself.

In The Bible, Jesus declared in John 6:63 that His words are spirit and life. Words are not powerless. They carry spiritual force. Harmful words can sink deep into a person’s heart and remain there for years because spoken words continue to live and influence the mind and spirit.

Many people casually speak negative statements like, “I’m dying to go,” or “This situation is killing me,” never realizing the spiritual weight carried by those words. Dr. Winston teaches that believers must become aware of what they say because words release either life or destruction.

In the Book of Job, God asked Job whether he understood the ordinances of heaven and how spiritual laws influence earthly events. Too often, people blame God for situations that are actually connected to fear-filled words, unbelief, or negative confessions. Scripture says that death and life are in the power of the tongue.

The Psalms repeatedly emphasize guarding your mouth. David prayed, “Set a watch over my mouth, Lord; keep watch over the door of my lips.” In the New Covenant, believers are taught to discipline their own speech through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Demonic forces seek opportunities to provoke negative words because they understand the spiritual authority connected to human speech.

Dr. Winston points to the story of Job, explaining that fear opened a door for the enemy. Job himself admitted, “The thing I feared most has come upon me.” Job later prayed, “Teach me, and I will hold my tongue.” This demonstrates that words and fear can activate destructive cycles if they are not brought into alignment with God’s truth.

Positive thinking alone is not enough to transform circumstances. While a positive attitude may help emotionally, true biblical transformation comes through faith-filled words spoken in agreement with God’s promises. Jesus demonstrated this repeatedly throughout His ministry.

One example is the story of Jairus and his dying daughter. Jairus told Jesus, “If You lay Your hands on her, she will live.” Even after people announced that the child had died, Jesus refused to allow fear-filled words to dominate the situation. Instead, He declared, “She is not dead, but sleeping.” He was not merely making a comforting statement; He was activating spiritual law through faith-filled confession.

Dr. Winston explains that believers must learn the “vocabulary of silence.” After standing on God’s promise, there are moments when wisdom requires silence rather than speaking doubt or fear. The enemy often uses circumstances and people to pressure believers into changing their confession.

He shares a personal testimony from the time he was believing God to acquire a shopping mall for ministry purposes. While facing financial pressure and criticism, he realized he had to keep speaking what God had promised instead of retreating into doubt because of public opinion. Faith requires bold agreement with God’s Word, even when circumstances appear impossible.

The Bible teaches that God magnifies His Word above His own name. Whatever God has spoken, He fully commits Himself to fulfilling. Believers are called to develop the same confidence in speaking God’s promises over their lives.

The Greek word often translated as “confession” is “homologeo,” meaning “to say the same thing.” Biblical confession means agreeing with God and declaring what He says, regardless of outward appearances.

Dr. Winston encourages believers to reject negative speech and embrace words that build faith, healing, blessing, and victory. He warns against joking negatively or casually speaking defeat because words carry spiritual authority. Instead, believers should intentionally speak life over their health, families, finances, and future.

He closes with a prayer of repentance and faith, encouraging believers to cancel every negative word spoken against God’s will and to ask the Holy Spirit for grace to speak in agreement with God’s truth in every situation. He declares that those who align their words with God’s promises will walk in victory, freedom, and blessing.

Dr. Winston also reminds viewers that salvation begins with confessing Jesus Christ as Lord. Through faith in Jesus, lives are transformed, sins are forgiven, and believers become part of the family of God. He invites anyone ready for a new beginning to receive Christ and begin walking by faith.

For decades, Bill Winston has taught believers how to renew their minds, operate in kingdom faith, and live according to God’s supernatural principles. His message continues to inspire people around the world to trust God, speak His promises boldly, and walk in faith every day.
