The Mystery of the Cosmic Lamb | Jonathan Cahn Sermon
The most recognized symbol on earth is the cross a powerful sign of the Lamb, the Messiah. Long before the foundation of the world, He was chosen, yet in these last days, He was revealed for you. This reveals a profound truth: the mystery of the Lamb is not limited to the past or present it stretches into eternity.
Many wonder, “Why is it called Good Friday if Jesus died?” As believers, we understand that this day is not only about suffering but about divine fulfillment. It is the convergence of holy moments Sabbath, Passover, and redemption.
Jesus, the Messiah, gave His life as the Passover Lamb. He labored for our salvation, and as the Sabbath approached, He declared, “It is finished,” and entered His rest. In Him, we find true Sabbath peace a peace the world cannot give.
Scripture reveals that He was beaten, mocked, and crucified. Yet even in suffering, He prayed, “Father, forgive them.” His sacrifice fulfilled ancient prophecies written centuries before. As foretold, He was pierced for our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities, and by His wounds, we are healed.
From the very beginning of the Bible, the mystery of the Lamb unfolds. In Genesis, Abraham declared, “God will provide the Lamb.” This was not fully fulfilled in his time it pointed to the future. In Exodus, the Passover lamb brought deliverance to a household. In Isaiah, the Lamb is revealed as the One who suffers for a nation.
Then, in the New Testament, the revelation becomes complete. John the Baptist declares, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.” The Lamb is no longer symbolic it is a person: Jesus Christ.
The pattern grows greater: a Lamb for one person, then for a family, then for a nation, then for the entire world. And finally, in the Book of Revelation, the Lamb is at the center of heaven, worshiped by all creation. He is no longer suffering He is glorified forever.
This is the ultimate truth: the Lamb was given not only for the world, but for you personally. His sacrifice breaks bondage, brings freedom, and gives eternal life. Because of Him, you are redeemed, forgiven, and made new.
The mystery of the Lamb is the story of God’s love a love that planned your salvation before time began. And today, that same Lamb is your light, your hope, and your future.
God has provided the Lamb. And because of Him, your life can be filled with purpose, freedom, and eternal glory.
