Christmas Beyond the Nativity Scene: The Bible’s “Infallible Proofs” of Jesus

Let me challenge a common Christmas picture for a moment: the traditional nativity scene. The Bible tells us there was no room at the inn, and historically, Jesus may not have been born in a wooden stable at all. Many scholars believe the birthplace was likely a cave or sheltered area used for animals, which functioned like a stable in that region.

And here’s another detail many people miss: when the wise men arrived, Scripture describes Jesus as a young child, not a newborn baby. That means Jesus may have been as old as two years by that time.

That’s why this Christmas message takes a different approach.

Instead of repeating the same predictable Christmas storyline, this series focuses on Christmas facts—the biblical evidence that confirms who Jesus is and why His coming matters. The goal is not just tradition, but truth: to help you see how deeply committed God is to bringing you into His presence for eternity.

God loves you—and He has proven it.

Christmas With Evidence: “Many Infallible Proofs”

The theme of this four-part series comes from the Book of Acts. It may not sound like a typical Christmas passage, but that’s intentional. This is Christmas through an apologetic lens—meaning a biblical case built on evidence and truth.

In Acts 1:1–3, Luke (the author of the Gospel of Luke) writes to Theophilus again and reminds him that Jesus did not leave people with vague claims. After His suffering, Jesus presented Himself alive and was seen by many over forty days:

  • He proved the resurrection with many infallible proofs

  • He appeared repeatedly to eyewitnesses

  • He taught them about the Kingdom of God

This is not myth or tradition. It is presented as verified truth.

Christmas Was Planned Before Creation

To understand Christmas fully, we must look beyond the baby in Bethlehem. Scripture teaches that the coming of Christ was not an afterthought—it was God’s plan from before time began.

In 1 Peter 1:20, Peter explains that Jesus was foreordained before the foundation of the world, and revealed in these last times for you. God raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory so that your faith and hope would be anchored in God.

That is a powerful Christmas truth:

Jesus entered the world so you could be brought into the presence of Almighty God forever.

That is the ultimate gift of Christmas.

The Bible Is the Foundation of Christmas Truth

This message also points to the reliability of Scripture itself. 2 Timothy 3:16 teaches that all Scripture is inspired by God—meaning God’s Word carries divine authority, truth, and power.

And 2 Peter 1:19 adds that the prophetic Word is confirmed: God speaks the future in advance. The promises about Christ—His birth, His mission, and His victory—were declared long before they happened. Scripture shines like a light in darkness until the day dawns and Jesus, the Morning Star, rises in our hearts.

The Real Meaning of Christmas

Christmas is more than a holiday scene—it is God’s proven rescue plan. It is history backed by Scripture, prophecy fulfilled, and truth confirmed through eyewitness testimony.

When you look at Christmas through the Bible’s lens, you don’t just see a baby—you see the eternal Christ, promised before creation, revealed in human history, and offered as the way for all people to know God forever.
