Jack Hibbs : LIFT Daily Prayer: Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ
Faith That Transforms: Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ
Wednesday. I want to start by thanking all of you for your prayers yesterday. God’s favor was evident in every moment. What should have been a simple hour-long drive to San Diego turned into almost three hours due to heavy traffic—but His favor carried me through safely. I had the privilege of speaking at a Salem Radio event, connecting with many pastors, and later joined a wonderful two-hour podcast hosted by a gifted young man named Rristllin. The day concluded with a meeting in Huntington Beach before returning home to Chino Hills—a full 13-hour day, yet God’s goodness made it a joyful and blessed day off.
Even more remarkable, at last night’s World Series in Los Angeles, Christian praise music filled the stadium during breaks. Fans sang along, and I couldn’t help but praise God for this unexpected display of His presence in everyday life.
Today, let’s focus on Acts 16:27–31: the story of the Philippian jailer. Awakening to find the prison doors open, he feared the worst and was about to take his own life. But Paul called out, “Do yourself no harm, for we are all here.” Trembling, the jailer fell before them and asked, “What must I do to be saved?” Paul’s answer was simple yet profound: “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved—you and your household.”
This verse is not a promise of automatic salvation for everyone in a believer’s home. Rather, it highlights the incredible influence of a life surrendered to Christ. When one person turns to Jesus, their witness can ripple through their household—husbands, wives, children—touching hearts and drawing them closer to the Lord.
Paul and Silas were imprisoned for preaching the gospel, yet God intervened with an earthquake, opening the prison doors. The jailer faced despair and potential execution, yet in that moment, he encountered hope and salvation. The earthly consequences faded in comparison to the eternal life he received. This reminds us that no matter what we possess—wealth, power, health—none of it matters if our souls are not secured in Christ.
Friends, salvation is personal and eternal. Are you trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ today? Your faith not only rescues you but can also impact those around you. Your home, your family, your community can feel the influence of a life surrendered to God.
Let us pray: Father, we thank You for the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. Help us to live in the reality of eternal life, walking in Your joy and serving You faithfully. May our households come to know You, and may our lives reflect Your light and love. Confirm our faith and remind us to be ready, for the Lord is coming. Amen.
Be encouraged—stand strong, and walk in the hope and power of Jesus Christ.
