You Are a Spiritual Israeli: Rising from the Desert to Bear Miracles | Jonathan Cahn Sermon

Have you ever wondered what it truly means to be a part of God’s people? Jesus—Yeshua—the Shepherd of Israel, will not return until His people are gathered. He is the shepherd of Israel first, and by extension, the shepherd of all nations. And just as He gathers Israel, so too He gathers those who belong to Him spiritually—spiritual Israelis.

Look at Israel today. Every detail of its revival echoes Scripture. From the currency—the shekel—to the blossoming of its deserts, the land itself reflects God’s Word brought to life. This is no mere coincidence. The Bible says what was once barren will bloom. And Israel, a land abandoned and desolate, now overflows with life, fruit, and beauty.

For centuries, the Jewish people were scattered across the nations, often forbidden to farm the land of their ancestors. And yet, when they returned, God gave them a miraculous ability: they transformed deserts into gardens. Swamps turned fertile. Barren soil yielded fruit. Trees were planted by the millions. Flowers and produce now flow from the land to the rest of the world. What was dead came alive. What was hopeless now thrives.

This miracle is a picture for your own life. As a spiritual Israeli, God has called you to bring life to what is barren. You have been given the power to bear fruit in places where none should exist—love where there is hate, joy where there is sorrow, hope where there is despair. Just as Israel blooms in the desert, so too can your life bloom with God’s miraculous fruit.

The spiritual Israeli is defined by transformation. Your past, no matter how broken or unfruitful, does not determine your future. You are not bound by the failures of yesterday or the limitations of your circumstances. Through Messiah, you are made new, called to a life that defies the natural, a life that produces beauty in the most unlikely places.

God calls you to more than survival. He calls you to abundance, to joy, to praise even when there is no reason to rejoice, to give love even when it is undeserved. The miracles of Israel—its return, its revival, its blossoming—mirror the spiritual power available to you. You can rise above the barrenness of the past and bring life wherever you go.

Ephesians 2 reminds us: even if you were once far from God, excluded from His covenant, strangers to the promises, now you have been brought near. You are fellow citizens in the commonwealth of Israel. You are a spiritual Israeli, linked not just to a people of the past but to the living, breathing nation of today. Just as Israel was resurrected from desolation, so too your life can be resurrected to fulfill God’s purpose and bear His miraculous fruit.

You are called to rejoice always, to be a witness of God’s joy and love, even in difficult circumstances. Israel’s miraculous survival and growth in the face of impossible odds shows what God can do through His people. Likewise, your life is meant to defy the ordinary, to turn deserts into gardens, to transform sorrow into joy, and to live as a testament of God’s power and faithfulness.

Remember: the miraculous revival of Israel was God’s doing, yet it also required participation. You, too, are empowered to act with God’s Spirit. Let your life be a living testimony of resurrection, redemption, and joy. Let the world see in you the power of God to create life where there was none, to bear beauty where there was desolation, and to reflect the heart of the Shepherd who gathers His people.

You are not just an Israelite of history—you are an Israeli of today, a spiritual heir of God’s covenant, called to miracles, fruitfulness, and eternal hope. Just as Israel exists against all odds, so too you exist as a living miracle of God’s grace. Rise. Bloom. Bear fruit in the desert. You are a spiritual Israeli.
