Where Are You On The Issue Of Heaven And Hell

How Can We Pray For You? Have you signed up yet?

As we reach the end of the year, it’s natural to pause and reflect. What did we accomplish? Where did we fall short? How are the kids, the house, and life in general? And if that wasn’t enough, we also look ahead with a mix of hope and uncertainty, especially given everything happening around us. Just consider the recent events in America—oh my goodness!

But here’s the bottom line: I wouldn’t want you to step into a new year unprepared for eternity. Think about it. People are saying goodbye to the past year and looking ahead with hope, but Jesus put it best: “What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul?”

Today, I want to urge you to ensure that your eternal destination is heaven—not hell. By default, because of sin, we’re all on a path to hell. That’s why we need to turn to Christ. Deep down, you probably sense this already, but God is calling you to act on it now. Let’s open our Bibles together and dive into this critical message: heaven or hell—what lies ahead? God has given us the choice, so choose wisely.

Where do you stand on this? Is Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior? God, in His mercy, offers eternal life and forgiveness through His sacrifice. But if you reject His gift, you’re choosing an eternity separated from Him—a decision that leads to hell. Remember, “God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9).

Ephesians 1:4–5 reveals an incredible truth:
“Just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before Him in love. He predestined us for adoption as His children through Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of His will.”

This passage overflows with theological richness. God, in His omniscience, knew you before the world began. He’s not learning new things—He knows all things from the beginning to the end. That moment you came to Christ? God had already planned it before the world was even created. While we experience time linearly, God exists in the eternal “now,” seeing everything at once.

God’s omniscience means He knows all actual events and even all potential outcomes. Think about it: if you stand at a fork in the road, God knows not only the path you’ll choose but also what would have happened if you had chosen the other direction. Isn’t it awe-inspiring how vast His knowledge is?

Jeremiah 1:5 adds even more depth:
“Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; before you were born, I set you apart.”

This message to a teenage Jeremiah reminds us that God has a purpose for each of us, even before we take our first breath.

As we prepare to step into the new year, let’s take this opportunity to reflect on God’s sovereignty, His love, and the eternal hope we have in Christ. Don’t delay—choose today to align your life with His eternal plan.
