The Secret That Shaped World History
Jonathan Cahn shares in one message the amazing and powerful secret that has determined world history from the Egyptian Empire to the American Superpower, where it stood, and where it stands right now.
The Biblical Covenant That Shaped World History
Throughout 4,000 years of history, a single biblical promise has influenced the rise and fall of nations. From ancient empires to modern superpowers, this covenant has determined the fate of countries that either blessed or cursed the Jewish people.
The Abrahamic Covenant: A Historical Pattern
Genesis 12:3 establishes God’s promise to Abraham: “I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse.” This divine covenant has manifested consistently throughout history:
Ancient Egypt
Egypt, the dominant empire of the second millennium BC, enslaved and oppressed the Israelites. Following the Exodus (around the time of Rameses the Great), the Egyptian Empire suddenly collapsed. By 1200 BC, Egypt had lost all foreign territories and would never again be a major world power, instead becoming subject to other nations.
Assyrian Empire
The brutal Assyrian Empire destroyed the northern kingdom of Israel, wiping it off the map. In 612 BC, a coalition of forces attacked Assyria with the same brutality they had shown Israel. The great city of Nineveh was so thoroughly destroyed that its location remained unknown until archaeological discoveries in the 1800s.
Nazi Germany
Initially, Germany allowed Jewish people to prosper, contributing significantly to German strength. However, rising anti-Semitism culminated in Hitler’s rise and the Holocaust, which claimed six million Jewish lives. By war’s end, Germany lay in ruins, Hitler had committed suicide (his body burned to ashes as he had done to Jews), and the Third Reich was destroyed. The Nuremberg trials brought judgment to Nazi leaders in the same city where anti-Jewish laws had been enacted.
