T.D. Jakes Daily Devotional – October 25, 2026: Standing Strong in the Middle of the Storm

If you woke up this morning feeling pressed on every side, you are not alone. Maybe the news cycle is heavy, your family is stretched, or the bills are louder than your peace. Yet right here, in the ordinary moments of a Monday in October, God is reaching for you. He sees the tears you don’t talk about. He hears the prayers you whisper in the dark. And He has not forgotten your name. Today’s devotional is an invitation to breathe again, to lean into God’s presence, and to remember that no storm has the final word over a child of God.

Anchored by a Promise

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you.” (Isaiah 43:2, ESV) God never promised we’d avoid deep waters, but He did promise we wouldn’t face them alone. The verse says “when,” not “if.” Trouble is not a sign that God left; it’s often the place where His presence becomes most real. Maybe today the “waters” look like a medical report, a job loss, a prodigal child, or silent tension in your marriage. The Lord’s word to you is simple: “I will be with you.” You are not abandoned, and you are not sinking. His hand is underneath you, upholding you when your strength runs out.

Hope for the Middle, Not Just the Miracle

We love testimonies about breakthroughs, but most of life is lived in the “middle”—after the promise, before the manifestation. That middle place can feel messy and uncertain. Yet that is exactly where God shapes our faith. Today, instead of waiting until everything looks better to rejoice, choose to worship in the middle. Speak God’s word over your situation. Turn off the voice of fear and turn up the voice of faith. When worry starts to spiral, pause and say, “Lord, I trust You with this.” Then take one obedient step—make the phone call, send the résumé, apologize, forgive, schedule the doctor’s visit. Faith is not pretending everything is easy; faith is moving forward with God even when nothing makes sense. As you walk through this day, remind yourself that the Lord is working beneath the surface, arranging what you can’t see yet.

Drawing Near in Faith

Father, in the name of Jesus, I bring my faith—small, shaking, but real—to You today. Where unbelief has crept into my heart, cleanse me and renew me. Teach me to trust You when I don’t understand what You are doing. Grow my roots deeper in Your word so I won’t be tossed around by my emotions or circumstances. Help me to hunger for Your presence more than for quick fixes or easy answers. Fill me with the Holy Spirit’s power so I can walk in obedience, courage, and integrity. Let my faith mature, so that I no longer live tossed between doubt and belief, but stand firmly on Your promises. Lord, make my life a testimony that You are faithful, even in the darkest chapters.

Covering Our Homes in Peace

Lord, I lift my family before You—those under my roof, those far away, and the ones whose relationship with me is strained. Heal what is broken. Restore what the enemy tried to divide. Bring Your peace into every conversation, every disagreement, every misunderstanding. Guard our home from confusion and strife. Let forgiveness flow where resentment has taken root. Draw our children, grandchildren, and loved ones into a living relationship with Jesus Christ. Surround our marriages, our single journeys, and our blended families with Your wisdom and grace. Let our homes in this nation become altars of worship, not battlegrounds of chaos. May Your presence be the loudest voice in our households.

Health, Healing, and Hidden Hurts

Lord, You see the aches in our bodies and the unspoken pain in our hearts. For those battling illness, chronic pain, or frightening diagnoses, stretch out Your healing hand. Guide doctors, nurses, and caregivers with insight that comes from You. Strengthen immune systems, restore energy, and bring relief. For those carrying anxiety, depression, or emotional exhaustion, breathe peace into their minds. Silence lies that say they are too broken, too weak, or too far gone. Remind them that nothing is impossible for You. Heal trauma, mend memories, and replace fear with Your perfect love. Let this day be marked by renewed strength—phys
