Stay Strong And Healthy God’s Way (Full Sermon) | Joseph Prince
In our fast-paced, ever-changing world, it’s easy to feel weighed down by worries about health, the future, and the strength to keep going. Yet as believers, the Bible gives us clear promises God wants us to experience not just any life, but a vibrant and healthy one. Today, let’s explore the scriptural secrets to staying strong and healthy God’s way, discovering how faith in Jesus Christ transforms our physical and spiritual well-being and sets us on a path of supernatural strength for every season of life.
Understanding the Times The Need for God’s Strength
It’s no secret: the challenges we face today are unlike any before. The Bible refers to times of darkness and lawlessness before Christ’s return, and we see some of those patterns in our society moral standards are compromised, and fear often takes center stage. Yet, God is faithful to His children, promising that even as the world grows darker, we can shine brighter through faith and obedience to Him.
The tribes of Israel, particularly the sons of Issachar, were famous for understanding the times and knowing what to do (1 Chronicles 12:32). Likewise, God wants to give us wisdom for our era to walk in His supernatural strength and remain steady amid uncertainty. As we look at what the Bible says about health and strength, one thing becomes clear: God’s way is for us to not just survive these days, but to thrive, walking in His rest and power.
The Finished Work of Jesus Redemption for Body, Soul, and Spirit
Many Christians have embraced the redemptive work of Christ in saving our souls, but did you know redemption also covers your physical health? The powerful prophecy in Isaiah 53 reveals that Jesus not only carried our sins but also bore our pains and sicknesses. This truth is repeated in Matthew 8:17, affirming that His sacrifice was for our total well-being spirit, soul, and body.
Just as Jesus forgives our sins and grants us a new spiritual identity, His atonement brings healing to our bodies. The enemy would love for us to miss this revelation, but the Bible uncovers it throughout God desires that we prosper and be in good health even as our souls prosper (3 John 2).
Alive and Remain The Power to Flourish Until Christ’s Return
Paul’s words in 1 Thessalonians 4 describe a special group of believers at the time of the rapture: “Those who are alive and remain.” The emphasis is not only on being physically alive but on having the supernatural power to remain strong amid adversity. This is more than just living a long life by worldly measures. It’s about enjoying divine health and resilience, empowered by God’s promises and sustained by His presence.
This concept is found throughout Scripture. Paul, for example, spoke of his desire to remain in the body not for his own sake, but for the benefit of others (Philippians 1:22-25). He understood that living a full and healthy life enables us to fulfill our calling and ministry on earth.
Freedom from the Fear of Death Christ’s Victory Over the Enemy
Hebrews 2 explains that Jesus took on flesh and blood so that, through His death, He might destroy the one who held the power of death the devil and release us from the lifelong bondage of fearing death. The root of many anxieties and hesitations, whether we’re aware of it or not, is the fear of dying. But in Christ, this fear is broken. The enemy no longer has the authority to decide when our time is up; instead, believers can trust in God’s good plan for their days.
God’s intent is that we live free from the bondage of fear so that we can fully serve, love, and minister to others with all the gifts He has placed within us.
The Testimony of the Faithful Real-Life Examples of Divine Longevity
Throughout history, faithful believers have proven the reality of God’s promise for strength and longevity. Consider George Müller, a man of faith who cared for over 10,000 orphans and, well into his nineties, testified to having no aches, pains, or ailments. His secret? He emphasized the “recuperative power of God’s word upon my physical being,” finding strength not just spiritually but physically by daily meditating on Scripture (Proverbs 4:20-22).
Similarly, biblical figures like Caleb and Moses stood as living testimonies of God’s sustaining power. Caleb, at eighty-five, declared, “I am as strong today as I was the day Moses sent me … for war, both for going out and coming in” (Joshua 14:11). Moses, at one hundred twenty, retained keen eyesight and natural vigor (Deuteronomy 34:7). These accounts remind us that God’s promises were not limited to ancient days they remain true for us today.
Grace, Not Law The Source of Abundant Strength
It’s important to recognize that living under the law limits our strength, confining us to natural ability and a mindset of striving. Under the old covenant, even the Levites’ service was restricted by age, reflecting the inadequacy of relying on the flesh. Conversely, living under grace God’s unearned, unmerited favor brings freedom and the blessing of Abraham.
Abraham himself, well past ninety, ran to meet visitors and displayed a supernatural renewal of youth. His wife Sarah, through faith, received strength to conceive, and both became examples of how God’s blessing brings vitality beyond the expected norms.
The Secret: Seeing Jesus in the Word
What enabled these men and women of God to walk in continual strength? The recurring key is their focus on the Lord. Moses “remained strong by seeing Him who is invisible” (Hebrews 11:27). The word “endure” in this context refers to remaining robust, energized by the vision of Christ even before
