SARAH JAKES ROBERTS – DAILY DEVOTIONAL OCTOBER 19, 2026
If your heart feels a little worn, overlooked, or stretched thin today, you are not alone. God sees the parts of your story that other people miss. He knows the quiet tears, the hidden victories, and the questions you don’t feel safe saying out loud. On this October 19, 2026, as we lean into a Sarah Jakes Roberts–style rhythm of honesty, healing, and hope, let this be a moment where you exhale. You don’t have to have it all together to come before God. You just have to come. Today’s devotional is an invitation to bring every broken piece, every buried dream, and every weary thought to the One who still calls you chosen, anointed, and worth fighting for.
Rooted In His Promise
“The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” (Exodus 14:14, NIV)
In this moment of Israel’s fear, when the Red Sea blocked their way and the Egyptian army pressed from behind, God gave them a strange instruction: be still. It wasn’t passivity; it was trust. “Still” meant letting God be God when the situation felt impossible. Maybe you’re facing your own Red Sea today—legal issues, broken trust, a health scare, or a bank account that doesn’t match the bills. God isn’t asking you to pretend it doesn’t hurt. He’s asking you to trust that He’s already in the middle of it, opening a way where you see none. Being still means refusing to let fear have the final word, and choosing to believe that God is fighting for you behind the scenes.
Walking It Out In Real Life
Faith is not pretending the storm doesn’t exist; it’s deciding where you anchor your soul while the wind is raging. Today, choose one area of your life where fear has been loud and intentionally hand it to God. Say it out loud: “Lord, I give You my marriage…my child…my job…my health.” Then, make one small, faith-filled move. Send the resume. Apologize first. Schedule the doctor’s appointment. Start the budget. Faith is both surrender and action. As Sarah often reminds us, God isn’t intimidated by your past or your process. He can use the very thing that tried to break you as the platform He stands on to bless you. Let grace meet you in your everyday: in the school drop-off line, in traffic, in the office, in the quiet of your living room. God is there, and He is working.
Lord, Grow My Faith In The Fire
Father, in Jesus’ name, we bring our faith to You—fragile, imperfect, but sincere. Where we have doubted Your goodness, forgive us and renew our minds. Teach us to trust You beyond what we can see. Stretch our faith so it can hold the weight of the promises You’ve spoken. Help us to believe that even our delays and detours are wrapped in Your wisdom. Grow us from shallow belief to steady confidence. Let our faith not just be words we say on Sunday, but power we live in on Monday. Align our desires with Your purpose, and make our hearts soft, responsive, and ready for whatever You choose to do in and through us. Draw us closer, Lord, until we recognize Your voice louder than fear.
Covering Our Homes With Peace
God, we lift our families to You. Cover every household represented here with Your peace. Heal broken communication between spouses. Restore trust where betrayal has left scars. Protect our children—biological, bonus, and spiritual—from harm, confusion, and negative influences. Let every home become a sanctuary where Your presence is welcome and Your name is honored. Give wisdom to parents, grace to single moms and dads, and comfort to those longing for children. Mend strained relationships with parents, siblings, and loved ones. Let forgiveness break the cycles of anger and generational pain. May laughter return where there has been silence, and may Your love soften hard places in every heart under our roofs.
Strength For Our Bodies And Souls
Lord, we bring our health before You—every diagnosis, every ache, every hidden anxiety. You are Jehovah Rapha, our Healer. Touch bodies battling chronic pain, autoimmune issues, cancer, heart disease, and every unnamed condition. Strengthen immune systems, regulate blood pressure, and restore energy where fatigue has lingered. Quiet racing thoughts, panic, and depression with Your perfect peace.
