Prayer of the Day

Lord God, I know that worry is a sin against You. In the name of Jesus, help me overcome all anxieties and worry, and enable me to trust You to provide for every need I have.

Nehemiah 2:12, NIV

I had not told anyone what my God had put in my heart to do for Jerusalem.

2 Corinthians 3:18
β€œBut we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

Jesus told His disciples not to be anxious and, as quoted above, not to worry about tomorrow. But He did more than teach those words; He lived them out:Β And Jesus replied to him, Foxes have holes and the birds of the air have lodging places, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His headΒ (Matthew 8:20 AMPC). That wasn’t a complaint but a simple fact of life. Jesus trusted His Father’s provision for Him even when He didn’t know where He would sleep or what He would eat.

Jesus taught that we are not to worry about anything in life. He wasn’t speaking about planning and thinking ahead. He was saying that some people never act because fear holds them back. They can always tell you 10 things that can go wrong with every plan. Jesus wants us to live a stress-free life. If you are worrying about what might happen, you’re hindering God from working in your life.

Dear Lord,

On this Thursday, we come before you with gratitude in our hearts. We thank you for the gift of life, for the blessings you have bestowed upon us, and for the opportunities that lie ahead.

Grant us the strength and wisdom to face the challenges of this day with grace and resilience. Help us to embrace each moment with kindness, compassion, and understanding towards others.

Guide our thoughts, words, and actions so that they may reflect your love and bring light to those around us. May we be instruments of peace, spreading joy and hope wherever we go.

As we journey through this day, may we never lose sight of your presence in our lives. Keep us anchored in faith, knowing that you are always by our side, ready to offer comfort and support.

Lord, we lift up our concerns, worries, and burdens to you, knowing that you hear our prayers and will guide us through whatever challenges we may face. Help us to trust in your plan and to surrender to your will.

In your holy name, we pray.

Amen.
