Michael Todd Daily Devotional – October 19, 2026: Holding On When You Feel Like Letting Go

If you’re reading this today feeling a little worn down, a little stretched, or maybe even a little forgotten, you’re not alone. God sees you right where you are—between bills and deadlines, between kids’ schedules and quiet tears, between “I trust You, Lord” and “God, what are You doing?” This devotional is for the heart that’s still showing up, still believing, even when feelings don’t match faith. Today, the Holy Spirit wants to remind you that your story is not stuck; it’s being carefully written by a faithful God who has never lost control of a single day of your life.

Anchored by His Promise

Today’s verse is Hebrews 10:23 (ESV): “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.” This isn’t just a pretty verse to stick on a coffee mug; it’s a battle cry for days when everything in you wants to quit. “Hold fast” means grab on like your life depends on it. Not to your feelings, not to your understanding, but to your confession of hope in Christ. Why? Because the weight of your future doesn’t rest on your grip strength—it rests on His faithfulness. The One who promised to never leave you or forsake you has not changed His mind about you, your calling, or your future.

Faith for the Middle of the Story

Most of life happens in the middle—between “Amen” and “There it is.” We love the testimonies, but we live in the tension. Maybe you’re praying for a job breakthrough, a prodigal child, a healthier marriage, or healing in your body, and it feels like heaven is silent. Yet God often does His deepest work in what feels like delay. Today, invite God into the middle: into the commute, the office, the classroom, the kitchen mess, the bank account that doesn’t add up. Faith isn’t pretending everything is perfect; it’s trusting that even the imperfect places are held in His perfect hands. Be honest with God. Bring Him your disappointment, your questions, your fear—and then, in the same breath, choose to say, “But I still trust You.” That simple decision is where spiritual growth catches fire.

Lord, Grow My Faith Today

Father, in Jesus’ name, I bring my faith to You—small in some places, stretched in others, but real. I ask You to deepen my trust in Your character, not just in the outcomes I want. Teach me to lean into Your Word when my emotions are loud. Help me to obey even when I don’t have all the answers. Break every lie that tells me You’ve forgotten or overlooked me. Strengthen my spirit to believe that You are still working, still speaking, still guiding. Grow a faith in me that stands steady in storms, a faith that reflects Jesus in my words, my decisions, and my responses. Make me more like Christ today.

Grace Over My Home

Lord, I lift my family and loved ones before You. Cover our home with Your peace and drive out every spirit of division, confusion, and heaviness. Heal places where words have wounded and trust has been broken. Restore laughter, tenderness, and unity. Protect my children, my spouse, my parents, my siblings, and every person connected to my life. Surround our home with angels, guard our coming and going, and let our conversations be filled with grace and kindness. May our house be a place where Your presence is felt, Your name is honored, and Your love is clearly seen.

Breathe Life Into My Body and Mind

Jesus, You are the Healer. I place my physical health, my mental health, and my emotions in Your hands. Where there is pain, bring relief. Where there is sickness, release Your healing power. Where there is anxiety, wrap my mind in Your perfect peace. Help me to steward this body—Your temple—with wisdom, rest, and discipline. Break cycles of stress, burnout, and self-neglect. Give me strength for today—energy to do what I must and grace to let go of what I cannot carry. Renew my joy, steady my heartbeat, and calm my thoughts in Your presence.

Favor in Work and Finances

God, I surrender my work, my business, my studies, and my finances to You. Open doors that no one can shut, and close the doors that
