Joel Osteen Daily Devotional – October 14, 2026: Trusting God in the Middle
If you’re reading this today, God has already carried you through more than you realize. You may not be where you want to be yet, but you’re not where you used to be. Somewhere between the promise and the fulfillment, between the prayer and the answer, there is “the middle.” That middle place can feel confusing, stretching, even lonely. But it is also the place where God does deep work in our hearts. Today, as we lean into the spirit of Joel Osteen’s uplifting message of hope, this devotional is here to remind you: God has not forgotten you, He has not changed His mind about you, and He is working behind the scenes right now.
Anchored by a Quiet Promise
“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1:6, NIV)
This verse is God’s guarantee that He finishes what He starts. The good work in you didn’t begin with your own strength or determination. It began with Him. That means delays can’t cancel it, people can’t stop it, and setbacks can’t erase it. When Paul wrote these words, he wasn’t in a comfortable place; he was in prison. Still, he spoke with confidence—because his faith was not in his circumstances, but in God’s character. Today, let this verse settle your heart. God is not halfway committed to your life. He is fully invested, fully present, and fully able to complete what He began.
Growing Stronger in the Waiting
Maybe you’re praying for a breakthrough in your family, your health, your job, or your finances, and it feels like nothing is changing. The temptation is to think, “Maybe this is it. Maybe it’s always going to be like this.” But God often does His greatest work in seasons that look the most ordinary. The “middle” is where roots grow deep. As Joel Osteen so often reminds us, your current situation is not your final destination. Learn to speak life over yourself: “God, I don’t see it yet, but I trust that You’re moving. I believe You are lining up the right people, the right doors, and the right timing.”
Today, choose one area of your life where you feel stuck and, instead of complaining, thank God in advance for what He is doing. That simple shift turns frustration into faith and prepares your heart to recognize His goodness when it shows up.
A Prayer for Unshakable Faith
Lord, strengthen my faith today. When doubts whisper that nothing is happening, remind me that You are the God who works in the unseen. Teach me to trust Your timing, even when it’s different from mine. Grow my spiritual roots so I’m not moved by what I feel or what I see. May Your Word be more real to me than my worries. Help me to live this day with expectancy, believing that every step of obedience brings me closer to what You’ve promised. Let my faith shine as a quiet, steady light to those around me, pointing them back to You.
Grace Over Our Homes
Father, I bring my family and loved ones before You. Cover our homes with Your peace and presence. Heal strained relationships, soften hardened hearts, and restore what has been broken by harsh words, misunderstandings, or old wounds. Where there has been distance, draw us closer. Where there has been confusion, bring clarity and calm. Teach us to speak blessing over one another and to forgive quickly. Let our homes be places where Your name is honored, Your love is felt, and Your joy is contagious. Guard our marriages, our children, and every bond of love You’ve given us.
Healing for Body and Soul
Lord, You are still Jehovah Rapha, our Healer. I lift up my body, my mind, and my emotions to You. For every person battling sickness, chronic pain, or a difficult diagnosis, stretch out Your healing hand. Bring strength to weak places, order to every system, and life to every cell. For those weary in their souls, lift the weight of anxiety, depression, and fear. Replace heaviness with hope, confusion with clarity, and restlessness with Your perfect peace. Help us make wise choices about rest, nutrition, and self-care, and remind us that our bodies are temples of Your Holy Spirit.
