Lisa Harper Daily Devotional – October 27, 2026

Friend, wherever you find yourself today—rushed in a school drop-off line, sitting beside a hospital bed, or staring at a messy kitchen counter—God sees you. He isn’t waiting for you to “get it together” before He draws near. He leans toward you right now, in the middle of your real life, with real struggles and real questions. This devotional is an invitation to exhale, to remember that you are not carrying your story alone. As you read and pray, let your heart settle into the truth that your Father is present, kind, and completely committed to you.

Anchored by a Promise

“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.” (Isaiah 26:3, ESV) This verse isn’t talking about a life without storms; it’s describing a heart that remembers who is in the boat. Perfect peace doesn’t mean we never feel afraid. It means that when fear knocks, our thoughts return to the God who never changes. As we fix our minds on His character—His faithfulness, goodness, and power—trust begins to rise. The waves may not stop immediately, but our hearts stop sinking. Today, God is inviting you to shift your focus from “What if?” to “Who is with me?”

Walking Out Hope in Ordinary Moments

Faith often grows in places that look deeply ordinary. The drive to work, the load of laundry, the quiet ache you don’t talk about—these are the spaces where God whispers, “I am here.” When anxiety creeps in, try pausing long enough to breathe a simple prayer: “Jesus, I choose to trust You with this.” When frustration flares at home, ask, “Lord, show me how You see this person.” Little, repeated choices to lean into God become sacred stepping stones. Over time, you realize you’re not reacting like you used to. Hope feels closer. Your reflex shifts from panic to prayer. That is spiritual growth, even if it doesn’t look dramatic on the outside.

Strengthened Faith and Deeper Trust

Father, today I bring my faith to You—fragile in some places, steady in others. Grow in me a deeper confidence that You are who You say You are. Where doubt has crept in, replace it with a fresh revelation of Your goodness. Teach me to trust You not only when I see answers, but also when I am still waiting. Help me to love Your presence more than I love control. Root my identity in Jesus, not in my performance, my past, or my circumstances. Let my heart cling to Your Word when feelings shout the opposite, and draw me into daily, honest conversations with You so my faith becomes real, resilient, and alive.

Grace Over Our Homes and Relationships

Lord, I lift my family and relationships to You. Cover my home with Your peace in a way that is unmistakable. Where there has been tension, bring gentle conversations and humble hearts. Heal old wounds, soften hard places, and restore what has been broken by harsh words, silence, or misunderstanding. Protect our children and loved ones—guard their minds, bodies, and spirits. Give us grace to listen more than we lecture, to encourage more than we criticize. Let forgiveness flow freely in our households. May our homes become small sanctuaries where Your love is felt, Your name is honored, and every person knows they are deeply valued.

Wholeness for Body, Mind, and Heart

Jesus, You are the Healer, and I bring my health and the health of those I love to You. For every diagnosis, every ache, every sleepless night, I ask for Your healing touch. Strengthen immune systems, calm racing hearts, restore hormones, heal chronic pain, and guide doctors and caregivers with wisdom. For those battling anxiety, depression, or emotional exhaustion, breathe new life and hope. Replace fear with the assurance of Your nearness. Help us steward our bodies wisely—choosing rest, nourishment, movement, and boundaries. Let Your peace settle over our minds so that even in physical weakness, we experience Your sustaining strength.

Provision, Purpose, and Daily Bread

Father, You know the bills on the counter, the deadlines at work, and the pressure that keeps us awake at night. I invite You into my job, my search for employment, my studies, and my financial decisions. Open the right doors and close the wrong ones. Provide opportunities
