Steven Furtick Daily Devotional – October 20, 2026
This new day is a gift, and God chose you to live it. You may be waking up with a full schedule, a heavy heart, or a quiet ache that few people know about. Wherever you are, God sees you, and He has not abandoned the story He is writing in your life. Today, let this moment be more than a quick devotional read—let it be a holy pause where your heart breathes again, your faith stands up straight, and your hope looks forward on purpose. God is closer than your next breath, and He is already in the details of this day.
Anchored in a Promise
“For we live by faith, not by sight.” (2 Corinthians 5:7, NIV)
This verse is more than a Christian slogan; it is a lifeline when life does not look like what you prayed for. Living by faith means we refuse to define God’s goodness by today’s circumstances. It means that when bills pile up, when our bodies feel weak, when relationships feel fragile, we still choose to say, “God, I trust You more than what I see.” Faith does not deny reality—it invites God’s greater reality into it. Today, let this verse remind you that your current view is not the full picture. God is working behind what your eyes can see.
When Your Heart Needs a Fresh Start
Sometimes we carry yesterday’s weight into today’s assignments. The disappointment, the regret, the fear of repeating old mistakes—all of it whispers that nothing will really change. But God specializes in fresh starts. His mercy is “new every morning,” which means this very morning carries brand-new grace tailored to you. Take a moment to breathe and say, “Lord, I receive Your new mercy for today.” Then make one small act of faith: a text of encouragement, five minutes in Scripture, a choice to forgive, a decision to worship instead of worry. Small steps of obedience invite big moves of God.
Lord, Grow My Faith Today
Father, in the name of Jesus, I lift my faith to You. Strengthen what has become weak, reignite what has grown cold, and correct what has drifted. Teach me to trust You when I cannot trace You. I surrender my fears about the future, my questions about the past, and my anxiety about the present. Let my faith rest not in my performance but in Your unchanging character. Holy Spirit, renew my mind, soften my heart, and lead me into deeper love for Jesus. Grow me, stretch me, and shape me so that my life reflects Your glory today. Amen.
Covering My Home in Peace
Lord, I bring my family and loved ones before You. Cover our homes with Your peace and presence. Heal old wounds, restore broken communication, and mend what has been torn apart. Let forgiveness flow more freely than offense. Guard our conversations, our decisions, and our hearts. For every child, spouse, parent, and friend connected to me, I ask for protection, unity, and wisdom. May our homes be places where Your name is honored, where laughter is heard, and where burdens are shared and lifted in love. Surround us with Your angels and root us in Your grace. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Healing for Body, Soul, and Mind
Jesus, You are the Great Physician, and I bring my body, my emotions, and my mind to You. Where there is pain, bring relief. Where there is sickness, release healing. Where there is anxiety, pour out Your peace that passes understanding. I speak health and strength over my immune system, my energy, my sleep, and my thoughts. Break the power of fear, depression, and discouragement. Help me steward my health wisely—through rest, wise choices, and healthy boundaries. Remind me that my body is Your temple and my life is in Your hands. I trust You with every heartbeat and every breath. Amen.
Work, Calling, and Daily Provision
Father, I place my job, my career, my studies, and my finances in Your hands. You are my Source, not my paycheck, not the economy, not my own abilities. Open doors that no one can shut and close doors that are not of You. Give me favor with supervisors, coworkers, clients, and those in authority. Fill me with creativity, diligence, and integrity in everything I do. Provide for every need—rent or mortgage, utilities, groceries, tuition, and debts.
