Steven Furtick Daily Devotional – October 19, 2026

You did not stumble onto this devotional by accident today. God knows exactly where you are, what you are facing, and how tired your heart might feel. Maybe you are holding on by what feels like a thin thread of faith, or maybe you woke up ready to believe God for more. Whatever your condition, this moment is holy ground. Today, God is inviting you to lean in, to take a deep breath, and to remember that you are not walking through this day alone. He is present in your questions, close in your confusion, and strong in your weakness. As you read and pray, open your heart and let the Holy Spirit whisper, “I’m still working in you, and I’m not finished yet.”

Anchored by a Promise

“Being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1:6, NIV) This verse is more than a nice Christian saying; it is a promise that God is both the Author and the Finisher of your story. You may see unfinished areas in your life—habits you still battle, prayers not yet answered, dreams that feel delayed—but God calls the work He began in you a “good work.” He doesn’t start something in you only to abandon it halfway. When doubt tells you, “You’ll never change,” this verse answers, “God is still working.” When fear whispers, “You’re on your own,” God responds, “I’m committed to you until completion.” Let this promise steady your heart today: your progress may be slow, but it is real, and it is held in the hands of a faithful God.

Walking Through Today With Quiet Confidence

Life can feel like a tug-of-war between faith and fear, especially in a culture that measures worth by productivity, appearance, and success. But you are not defined by the pace of your progress or the opinions of people. You are defined by the God who chose you, redeemed you, and placed His Spirit within you. Today, you can move through your schedule—work, school, errands, responsibilities—with a quiet inner confidence: “God is with me in this moment.” When anxiety flares, pause and whisper, “Lord, You began a good work in me; keep working right here, right now.” When frustration rises at home or at work, breathe a short prayer: “Jesus, I trust You with this.” Small, sincere prayers throughout the day keep your heart aligned with heaven. Growth doesn’t always look dramatic; sometimes it looks like one more act of obedience, one more step of faith, one more decision to trust God instead of your feelings.

Strengthening Faith and Deepening Trust

Heavenly Father, thank You for the measure of faith You have already placed in my heart. I ask You to grow that faith today. When I do not see the full picture, teach me to trust Your character. When my plans fall apart, remind me that Your plans are better and higher than mine. Help me to love Your presence more than I love having control. Lord, I surrender my fears, my doubts, and the stories I have been telling myself that do not agree with Your Word. Renew my mind so that I believe what You say about me: that I am loved, chosen, forgiven, and called. Draw me deeper into Your Word and into time with You. Let my relationship with You be more than a Sunday ritual—make it the heartbeat of my daily life. Jesus, strengthen my spirit so I can stand firm, not in my own willpower, but in Your grace. Amen.

Covering Our Homes in God’s Peace

Lord, I lift my family and loved ones to You today. You see every tension, every unspoken need, every quiet hurt. Bring Your peace into our home and into our relationships. Heal old wounds and soften hard places in our hearts. Where there is distance, create connection; where there is misunderstanding, bring clarity and gentle conversations. Protect our marriages, our children, our parents, and our friendships from division and bitterness. Teach us to forgive quickly and to speak words that build up instead of tear down. Let our homes be places where Your presence is felt—where laughter, grace, and encouragement overflow. Cover those we love who are far away with Your protection and Your favor. Unite our hearts around You, Lord, and let Your love be the foundation of our families. In Jesus’ name, amen.
