Priscilla Shirer Daily Devotional – October 15, 2026: Standing Still, Standing Strong

Maybe today finds you weary from fighting battles that no one else can see. You smile, you show up, you keep going—but inside, your heart feels thin and stretched. As you read this, pause for just a moment. Breathe in deeply. You are not alone in this place, and you are not expected to carry everything by yourself. The God who called you is still faithful, still near, and still mighty to save. He has not lost track of you. He has not lost control of your circumstances. Today’s devotional is a gentle reminder that while life is shifting beneath your feet, God’s Word is solid ground. He invites you not to strive harder, but to trust deeper, to stand still and let Him fight for you.

Anchored in a Greater Strength

“The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” (Exodus 14:14, NIV)
Israel stood at the edge of the Red Sea, trapped between deep waters and a ruthless enemy. Panic made sense; praise did not. Yet God’s instruction was clear: be still. Not inactive, but inwardly settled—hearts anchored in His promise, not in what their eyes could see. This verse is not an invitation to passivity, but to confidence. God was saying, “I’ve already planned your escape route. Stand firm and watch Me work.” In your own Red Sea moments—doctor’s reports, financial strain, family tension—God speaks the same assurance. He has not asked you to be your own rescuer. He has called you to trust the One who already holds the outcome.

Faith in the Middle, Not Just at the Finish

We love miracle endings, but most of life is lived in the middle—where answers aren’t clear, prayers feel slow in coming, and emotions are fragile. Faith grows right there. Today, invite God into the middle of your mess instead of waiting until everything looks neat and presentable. Ask Him to train your eyes to look for His hand in small mercies: a timely text, a quiet moment in His presence, unexpected favor at work. Open your Bible, even when you feel distracted; whisper His name, even when you feel numb. Obedience in the small things—turning off the noise to listen, choosing forgiveness instead of resentment, offering encouragement instead of complaint—creates space for Him to move. You don’t need a perfect day to walk by faith, only a willing heart.

Lord, Deepen My Faith and Steady My Heart

Father, in Jesus’ name, I bring my faith—frail in places, bold in others—and place it before You. Strengthen what is weak in me. Where I doubt, remind me of Your history of faithfulness in my life. Where fear shouts, let Your truth speak louder. Grow in me a hunger for Your Word and a tenderness to Your Spirit. Teach me to pause before reacting, to listen before speaking, and to lean into Your wisdom before leaning on my own understanding. Today, I choose to trust You not only for the big breakthroughs, but for the quiet, unseen work You are doing in my heart. Shape my character, refine my desires, and align my will with Yours. Let my relationship with You become the surest, strongest part of my life.

Lord, Cover My Home with Your Peace

God, I lift my family, loved ones, and every relationship connected to my life. Where there has been tension, bring understanding. Where there has been distance, create safe pathways back to connection. Surround our homes with Your peace—peace that disarms anger, softens stubborn hearts, and restores broken trust. Protect our children and grandchildren, guiding their steps and guarding their minds. Heal wounds created by harsh words and unmet expectations. Let our homes echo with laughter, honest conversations, and prayers that draw us closer to You and to each other. Make every relationship a reflection of Your grace, teaching us to love, forgive, and serve like Jesus.

Lord, Touch My Body, Mind, and Emotions

Heavenly Father, I place my health before You—every ache, every diagnosis, every unspoken fear. You are my Healer, my Sustainer, and the One who knows every cell of my body. Strengthen my immune system, renew my energy, and calm my nervous heart. Where there is chronic pain, bring relief. Where there is illness, release Your healing power. I also bring my mind and emotions
