Adrian Rogers Daily Devotional – October 14, 2026: Trusting God in the Middle of the Story

If you could see the end of the story God is writing in your life today, you wouldn’t be nearly as anxious about the chapter you’re in right now. Maybe this morning feels heavy—questions about your future, worries about your children, concerns about your health or your bank account. You love the Lord, but some days your heart whispers, “Lord, what are You doing?” Today’s devotional is a gentle reminder, inspired by the kind of faith-filled preaching Pastor Adrian Rogers shared, that God is not finished with you. He is weaving every detail together with a purpose that is good, eternal, and far bigger than you can see. Take a deep breath. You are not forgotten, and you are not alone. The same God who raised Jesus from the dead is working in the hidden places of your life right now.

Anchored in an Unshakable Promise

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28 KJV) This verse doesn’t say all things are good. Some things wound, confuse, and grieve us. But in Christ, nothing is wasted. God takes the broken pieces, the disappointments, even the things the enemy meant for evil, and works them together into a tapestry of good for those who love Him. Pastor Adrian Rogers often reminded believers that Romans 8:28 is not a “maybe” verse; it’s an “and we know” verse. You may not understand what God is doing, but you can be certain He is doing something. Today, let this promise settle your heart: your story is in nail-scarred hands.

Living by Faith When the Path Feels Foggy

Faith is not pretending everything feels fine. Faith is choosing to trust God when everything doesn’t. As you move through this day—driving to work, folding laundry, answering emails, sitting in traffic—you have a choice: rehearse your worries or release them to the Lord. A simple whisper, “Father, I trust You with this,” becomes an act of worship. Open your Bible, even if just for a few minutes. Write down your concerns and surrender them in prayer. When fear creeps in, speak God’s Word over your heart instead of replaying worst-case scenarios. The more you practice turning to the Lord in the small moments, the more anchored you’ll be when the big storms roll in. Spiritual growth doesn’t happen in one giant leap, but in thousands of small, faithful steps of obedience and trust.

Drawing Near in Faith and Spiritual Hunger

Father, today I come to You with an open heart. Deepen my faith. I don’t want to live as a powerless Christian, tossed around by circumstances. I want to know You, trust You, and walk closely with You. Calm the restless places in my soul. Help me believe Your Word more than I believe my fears or my feelings. Give me a hunger for Your presence, a desire to pray, and a longing to hear Your voice through Scripture. When I’m tempted to doubt, remind me of Your faithfulness in my past so I can stand firm in my present. Grow my roots deep, Lord, so that my faith will not wither in the heat of trials, but flourish and bear fruit for Your glory.

Covering Our Homes With God’s Peace

Lord Jesus, I lift my family and loved ones to You today. Step into every room of our home with Your peace. Heal strained relationships, soften hard hearts, and restore what has been broken by harsh words or misunderstandings. Protect our marriages, strengthen parents, and guide our children and grandchildren. Where there has been distance, bring unity. Where there has been anger, release forgiveness. Let our home be a place where Your presence is felt—a refuge, not a battlefield. Cover us with patience, kindness, and love that reflects Your heart. Guard our hearts from the enemy’s lies, and help us to speak life to one another. Make our homes bright testimonies of Your grace.

Health, Strength, and Quieting the Anxious Mind

Heavenly Father, You know every ache in our bodies and every unspoken fear about our health. I ask for Your healing touch on those who are sick today—physically, emotionally, or mentally. Bring relief from pain, restore energy, and guide doctors, nurses, and all who care for us. Calm anxiety and quiet racing
