Sarah Jakes Roberts Daily Devotional – October 12, 2026

Maybe you woke up today feeling a little torn—part of you wants to trust God fully, and another part is quietly bracing for disappointment. If that’s where you are, you are not alone. God specializes in meeting us in the middle place, right between our fear and our faith. As you read this devotional, imagine the Holy Spirit sitting beside you, holding your hand, reminding you that you are not too broken, too late, or too far gone. Today, God wants to whisper hope into the places that feel heavy and remind you: your story is still unfolding, and His hand is still on your life.

Anchored in a Promise

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” (Hebrews 11:1, NIV) This verse reaches right into our uncertain places. Faith is not pretending everything is perfect; faith is choosing to believe God even when we can’t see how it will work out. The assurance we have does not come from clear circumstances but from a clear God. When your situation is foggy, His character is still steady. Today, let this verse remind you that your confidence is not in the outcome you imagine, but in the God who holds every outcome in His hands.

When Your Faith Feels Fragile

If we’re honest, some days our faith feels more like a flickering candle than a blazing fire. And that’s okay. God is not offended by your questions, your weariness, or your tears. He isn’t asking you to be perfect; He’s inviting you to be present with Him. When fear whispers, “What if it doesn’t work out?” you can respond, “But what if God is already working it out?” Today, take a simple step: talk to God about the one thing that’s been weighing on your heart the most. Ask Him to show you one small way He’s already moving. Then choose one act of obedience—a phone call, an apology, a step of generosity, a moment of stillness—to align your day with what you believe, not just what you feel.

Prayer for Deepening Faith and Spiritual Growth

Father, in the name of Jesus, I bring my faith to You, even where it feels weak and worn. Grow me past surface-level belief and into deep, rooted trust. Help me to love Your presence more than I love control. Teach me to listen for Your voice, to honor Your Word, and to invite You into every decision I make. Lord, pull up the roots of doubt, insecurity, and shame. Replace them with boldness, clarity, and peace. Holy Spirit, shape my desires so that they reflect Your heart. May my mind be renewed, my spirit strengthened, and my life become a living testimony of Your transforming power. Today, I choose to lean into You instead of leaning on my own understanding.

Prayer for Family and Home

God, I lift my family and loved ones before You—those under my roof and those scattered across cities and states. Cover our homes with Your peace. Heal what is unspoken, mend what has been broken, and restore what has been lost. Where there is tension, bring understanding. Where there is silence, open safe communication. Protect our children, guide our marriages, comfort those who are single, divorced, or widowed. Let forgiveness flow like a river through our households. Lord, make our homes places where Your presence is felt, where grace is practiced, and where love speaks louder than any past hurt or disappointment.

Prayer for Health and Inner Strength

Lord, I place my body, mind, and emotions in Your healing hands. For every diagnosis, every symptom, and every hidden ache, I ask for Your touch. Strengthen my immune system, regulate every system in my body, and restore what has been worn down by stress and worry. Calm anxious thoughts and quiet inner storms. Help me to rest well, eat wisely, and move my body with gratitude. Heal trauma, grief, and emotional wounds that linger beneath the surface. Jesus, You are my healer—let Your wholeness flow through me. Give me strength for today, courage for tomorrow, and peace in the middle of the unknown.

Prayer for Work, Finances, and Daily Provision

Father, You see every bill, every deadline, every application, and every responsibility I carry. I surrender my work and my finances to You. Open doors no man can shut and close doors that are not Your will
