The Power to Believe: Moving When God Calls” | Sarah Jakes Roberts

Family, welcome home. We’re so glad you’re here. Today’s word is more than a sermon—it’s an invitation to move, to believe, and to step into what God has already spoken over your life. When God speaks and something in your spirit awakens, don’t ignore it. Build an altar. Sow a seed. Respond to His voice. Because every time He meets us, it’s a call to action.

Today we step into Genesis 12, the story of Abram, later known as Abraham. Out of nowhere, God interrupts Abram’s life with a promise: “Leave your country, your family, your father’s house, and go to the land I will show you.” Abram obeys, yet almost immediately he finds himself in famine—in the very land God promised.

Have you ever been there? God speaks a word, but what you see looks nothing like what He said. The promise feels delayed. So Abram, like many of us, takes matters into his own hands. He runs to Egypt, asks his wife to lie, and nearly loses everything. And yet—this same Abram is the father of our faith. Why? Because even when his belief wavered, he still made a move toward God.

That’s the heartbeat of this message: make a move. Even when doubt whispers, even when circumstances don’t align, you must move in the direction of what God has spoken.

In Mark 9, a desperate father cries out to Jesus: “Lord, I believe, help my unbelief.” His words reveal what so many of us feel—faith mixed with fear. He had seen too much disappointment to believe easily. Yet Jesus responds with a truth that still shakes heaven and earth: “If you can believe, all things are possible.”

Belief isn’t always simple. It takes power. It takes the Spirit of God filling the gap where your strength runs out. That’s why Jesus promised us the Holy Spirit—not just for miracles, not just for tongues, but for wisdom, knowledge, faith, and power. The Spirit manifests in whatever form you need for the moment you’re in.

Some of you are facing dreams too big for your education, your resources, or your experience. Yet God keeps calling you. Why? Because He’s the one who supplies the power to believe. The same power that raised Jesus is the power that strengthens your faith, breaks generational curses, and builds a new destiny for your family.

So don’t just wait for faith to fall from the sky. Ask God for it. Partner with the Holy Spirit. Step out even when it doesn’t make sense. Belief is more than a thought—it’s power. And that power will shape your future, transform your identity, and bring heaven’s promises to earth.

God is saying to someone right now: “It’s time to make a move.” Not in your strength, but in Mine. Not in fear, but in faith. Because if you can believe—even through trembling lips and weary prayers—all things are possible.
