When God Calls Your Name | Tim Sheets
When God Calls Your Name | Tim Sheets
Today’s message will be a bit different. I’m making a change, similar to a football audible. For those unfamiliar, an audible is when the quarterback calls for a different play if the original one doesn’t feel right. I spent the entire week preparing a great sermon for you, but after arriving home around 3:00 PM yesterday, I told Carol, “I’m ready, but this doesn’t feel like the right message.” I started reflecting on other thoughts, and so today, I don’t have a fully polished sermon for you. I’m trusting that you will allow your own understanding to complete what’s shared today. If it doesn’t come together, well, that’s on you, not me.
There are moments when a prophetic message comes over me, and that’s what’s happening today. This teaching is going to be prophetic, offering insight into the times we live in—a type of prophecy I wouldn’t normally give on Mother’s Day. However, it’s the message I received.
When I think about it, the more I realize that no one prays for the coming generation more than mothers. In Psalm 145, the Message Bible says:
“I will lift you high in praise, my God, O King, and I will bless your name forever. I will bless you every day and keep it up from now to eternity. God is magnificent; He can never be praised enough. There are no boundaries to His greatness. Generation after generation stands in awe of your works; each one tells stories of your mighty acts.”
Psalm 145 in the Passion Bible expresses:
“My heart explodes with praise to You now and forever. My heart bows in worship to You, my King and my God. Every day I will lift up my praise to Your name with praises that will last throughout eternity. Lord, You are great and worthy of the highest praise, for there is no end to the discovery of the greatness that surrounds You. Generation after generation will declare more of Your greatness and declare more of Your glory.”
Notice the plural generations declaring God’s greatness and mighty acts. My generation will, the one after mine will, and the upcoming generation—Generation Z—will they declare God’s greatness too? I believe the answer is yes.
I’ve been sensing something stirring in the spiritual realm for weeks now. There’s a Jesus movement coming that will surpass even the charismatic Jesus movement of the 1960s and 70s. God will always have a people, and though it may seem like Generation Z—sometimes referred to as Zoomers—has been hijacked, abused, and mentally and emotionally scarred, God is doing something incredible in this generation. He always has a people, and every generation, including the one coming up now, will declare His mighty acts.
While my generation has witnessed God’s greatness and mighty acts, the next generation has yet to see them firsthand. However, I believe God, through the Holy Spirit, is preparing to reveal His mighty hand to them on this earth.
I want to share a prophetic word I received years ago when the Holy Spirit first spoke to me about the coming Jesus movement. I’ve been part of a previous Jesus movement, but this one is going to be much greater, and it’s coming soon.
Here’s the prophetic word I received:
“Doors to new history will soon open. A new movement will soon spring forth. A new stream from My throne is now flowing. It is a pure stream of the powerful gospel, and it will be preached by all generations, races, colors, and ethnicities. The stream of My gospel has been diverted and dammed up by those seeking to hoard the blessings. But now, I will blow up the dams—the religious dams, the cultural dams, and the racial dams. I will discipline the spiritual hoarders.”
