The Wolfman, the Door Secret, & How Not to Fall
Message Of The Week – The most overlooked of the priestly garments and what it reveals about your walk, your calling, your ministry, and your life.
Wednesday, October 11, 2023 – He Left All For Her A Love Story
Genesis 2:24 says, “A man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” In Ephesians 5, Paul quotes this scripture and then says, “This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Messiah and the church.” It’s a deep thing. He opens a whole new revelation. That means that Messiah left everything. He left His Father’s house in heaven and came down to earth. He left His fellowship with His Father to be crucified on the cross. He left everything. It says that the man shall be joined to his wife. He joined Himself to us on the cross. That’s so beautiful. He separated from everything. Whatever God’s asking you to leave, whatever that thing is, that treasure, that joy, that habit, that sin, that idol, let it go. Because that’s how you really join to Him. He left everything for you, to be joined with you, to come into your life and save you. The Bridegroom left His Father’s house to come to you, to be one with you. And you the bride, can do no less than that. Remind yourself today that your Bridegroom has called you out and set you apart from the world for His glory and purposes.
Whatever you have to do, build hedges. What is the hedge? A hedge is saying, this is not movable.
I don’t cross this line. No matter what happens I don’t do this.
And it also speaks the priest undergarments all speaks of the flesh because it covers the flesh, the weakness of the flesh.
A key principle in god is everybody’s got weakness. Take note of it and cover it.
Don’t leave your weakness exposed for the enemy to use. This is like the Sampson principle.
Sampson was so strong, incredibly strong, yet it was all undone because of his weakness, not because of his strength.
He was blinded. He was enslaved. He was humiliated. Why?
Not because he wasn’t strong, but because he never guarded his weakness. So it didn’t matter.
In the end, his weakness overcame his strength. So in your life and so in your walk.
The enemy’s gonna be looking for weakness. He’ll look for them in any part.
He can find it, and he knows it already you be wise and cover it. Take precaution.
Take preemptive action. The priest must cover his or her weakness.
Know what it is and take action to protect yourself. And don’t pretend that you don’t have weakness.
And don’t pretend you can’t be tempted. Everybody can.
And the worst thing is when you think you can, that’s when you’re probably gonna fall.
The undergarment covered the flesh. Paul covered himself.
Paul, all that he said I have to take precaution. He said, I beat my body.
You know, I discipline my flesh. I bring it into subjection.
Less by any means, by after having preached to others, I myself will be a castaway.
If Paul could say that, we have to take that very seriously.
The strong man or the strong woman is the one who knows his or her weakness and covers it.
One minister, well, you know, was talking about lust and he said he’d lock himself in a room until it passed.
Good. Good for you. You know, I don’t trust flesh. I don’t trust anybody’s flesh.
I don’t trust my flesh, anybody’s flesh. I trust the lord.
And you shouldn’t trust your flesh or anybody else’s either. Priest had to cover that up.
I remember growing up I watched Saturday morning television.
And if those of you who are alive at that time, it was monster movies.
Dracula, Frankenstein, Alvin Castello, and Frankenstein, and all that.
And every other time when the old Gypsy lady would say of the wolf man, even a man who is pure in heart and says his prayers by night may become a wolf when the wolf banged blooms and the moon is full and bright.
Now it’s not biblical. There’s a problem right there because you’re not supposed to just pray your say your prayers at night.
It’s supposed to be praying at all times. Never seen.
But maybe if you were praying at all times, you wouldn’t be turning into a wolf. I don’t know.
I don’t know. But the truth comes in this when it comes to the flesh, the flesh Oh, has its own mind.
You cannot redeem the flesh. You have to crucify it. You can’t give it room. It will never listen.
It’ll it’ll be an when it if it pops its head up, if you give it room to Bob and say, it’ll be just as bad as when you were a new believer when you were on save because that flesh doesn’t change.
The spirit is what does the work. Trust the trust the spirit, not the flesh.
Tiss trust the flesh so much that you cover it up with god’s covering.
Example, you had an alcoholic past covering up. Take take precaution.
You know, one minister was was had been into drugs before he was saved.
And he got he got went to a doctor, got to put him on a medication, prescribed pain killer addictive.
He got back on drugs for a time. He got out of it, but he almost was lost.
Take precaution. And the principle in that so important is the principle of hedges.
Whatever you have to do, build hedges. What is the hedge?
A hedge is saying this is not movable. I don’t cross this line.
No matter what happens, I don’t do this. No matter what happens, I do this. I don’t allow this.
No matter what happens, I don’t get in that situation.
No matter what happens in our marriage, This is our hedge. We don’t allow this. We don’t allow that.
And our family, for instance, we don’t allow getting close to somebody in the opposite.
It’s like spending time and all that. We have hedges. You gotta have that.
But it whether no matter what, but hedges, you know, hedges only work if you keep them.
If you have a hedge and you break them, it doesn’t doesn’t do anything.
And you might say, well, you know, most of the time, I’m I’m okay.
I could I could go without the hedge. That’s not the point.
Oh, if it only takes one time, like, you know, you could do you could do a hundred times one time and it destroys your life.
Keep the hedge when you don’t need it. It will keep you when you do.
But not only that, let me give you another key, another secret. These are very practical things.
Not only build hedges away from the sin or the situation or the temptation, that is dangerous to you.
But build hedges that keep you from even that which leads to the thing.
You understand what I’m saying? Or, you know, keep yourself from the situation before you get to the sin.
In Proverbs, interesting, it doesn’t just say avoid the adult dress. It says, avoid her door.
That is key. Avoid the door, and you’ll never have to lead.
If you avoid the door of the adulterous or the adulterer, you’ll never deal with the adulterer or the adulteress.
You’re dealing with a door. And it’s a lot easier to deal with a door than it is with that.
Understand what I’m saying? Deal with the door. Cut it off beef the door to the temptation.
Build your head so you never even go to the door. You never get in that situation.
You know that, hey. Um, if if I’m in this situation, I’m I’m weaker if I’m late, if I’m tired, if I’m arguing, whatever, then don’t then build the hedge so you don’t get there.
So you could become strong, you know, by you know, it could be by you could try to be strong.
Or you can be strong by eliminating your weaknesses, taking precaution against your weaknesses.
The more you do that, the more strong you’ll become. And people will think you’re the strongest believer.
They don’t know you have a secret.
You know, you’re you because you’re not resisting the temptation of sin, You’re even wiser.
You’re resisting the door, and the door is a lot easier to resist than the sin.
That alone is worth the price of admission, and it’s free. So that’s it.
The Hebrew says the undergarment is to cover the priests Hebrew, Urva, try Urva.
Urva means his nakedness, but also can mean his shame. Or shameful things. Everybody has some shameful things.
I mean, something you were ashamed of, something you did in your past life, or even may have happened in your life and the lord that you’re ashamed of.
And if you if you say you, I never have anything to be ashamed of, you should be ashamed of yourself for saying that because everybody does.
There’s something, you know, that way.
And the thing is your shame or your shameful thing could will will prevent you will hinder you from fulfilling your calling.
It can be a shameful habit, a shameful thought, a shameful lust, a shameful indulgence, a shameful endeavor, a shameful lack of self control.
Or a shameful thing you do in the past that is still haunting you and it’s preventing you.
It’s hindering you in god, you know, or a shameful thing that was done to you.
Which happens in this life too that is hindering you. You need to deal with it.
Cover it with the love of god. Cover it with a cleansing of god.
Cover it with the redemption of god. He will do it.
The blood of Messiah cleanses us from all sin and all guilt and all shame.
It says in 2nd Corinthians 42, Paul but having renounced the hidden things of shame, we are not walking in in craftiness anymore.
