The Power of Benediction Blessings | Tim Sheets

How Can We Pray For You? Have you signed up yet?

Over the years, I’ve focused on the importance of atmospheres in spiritual realms. The early church, particularly the kingdom church described in the book of Acts, paid close attention to the atmosphere they cultivated. The church in Acts 2 fostered a kingdom atmosphere and a brotherhood spirit, which they expressed through their actions and words. Unfortunately, this concept is often misunderstood today. However, it’s essential to recognize that the Holy Spirit moves differently depending on the atmosphere. Some atmospheres prevent the Holy Spirit from moving, which is why it’s vital to cultivate the right one.

Let’s revisit some Old Testament verses from last week and explore additional New Testament verses as we continue discussing God’s blessings. The blessings of the kingdom church, as seen in Acts 2, are life-producing, miraculous, and create an environment conducive to miracles, signs, and wonders. They also reveal the incredible success and exponential growth of the early church.

Please listen to these verses from last week, followed by new ones:

  • Proverbs 12:25 (NKJV): “Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, but a good word makes it glad.”
  • Proverbs 16:24 (NKJV): “Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the bones.”
  • Proverbs 18:21 (NKJV): “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”
  • 2 Corinthians 13:14 (NKJV): “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.”

As we discussed last week, spoken blessings have immense power. A well-placed word of encouragement can unlock potential in others—sometimes potential they didn’t even know they had. Such words activate God’s destiny through our lives. The Bible teaches us the tremendous impact of spoken blessings. They can bring hope, encouragement, and direction to families and friends. Words of blessing inspire us to reach higher levels of gifting, talent, and even calling. They help us become more of who we are meant to be.

I’ve shared personal examples where spoken words either activated or hindered my destiny. We must live in such a way that we breathe life into one another’s potential. This is the atmosphere the true church is meant to create: a place where we speak life into each other’s destinies.

Here are the five “God bless you” blessings that I’ve mentioned:

  1. A blessing for wholeness—may you be completely healed in spirit, soul, and body.
  2. A blessing for divine assistance—may you be known for being God-assisted.
  3. A blessing for favor—may God’s favorable advantage always be upon you.
  4. A blessing for prosperity and joy—may you have a prosperous and joyful life.
  5. A blessing for divine affirmation—may God affirm your value as His treasured possession.

These “God bless you” blessings are vital for creating a unified atmosphere, one that allows God’s presence to grow and enables us to expand the kingdom of God. They help us foster an environment where the presence of God can thrive, propelling us toward a great harvest. This is the atmosphere the church should cultivate, and it’s a truth that must be restored for the church to flourish.
