The Nehemiah Secret Of Your Calling | Jonathan Cahn Sermon

How Can We Pray For You? Have you signed up yet?

Your attitude in life should be rooted in a divine mission from God. This concept isn’t exclusive to iconic figures like the Blues Brothers — it applies directly to you as a child of God. Embracing this mindset will transform how you perceive and approach everything in life. When you realize that you are sent by God, you understand that you are not bound or mastered by worldly circumstances. Instead, you are empowered to fulfill a higher purpose.

Your calling isn’t about pursuing wealth or career success. While God may bless you in those areas, the ultimate goal is to build His Kingdom and fulfill His purposes. Ask yourself: Is my life contributing to the growth of God’s Kingdom? Am I bringing redemption and life to those around me? If the answer is no, seek the Lord for guidance. Your life is meant to make an eternal impact. Don’t live solely for personal gain; instead, pray: “Lord, what is my true calling? How can I use everything I have and everything I am to build Your Kingdom?”

Understanding Your Mission: Lessons from Nehemiah

The story of Nehemiah offers a profound example of living on a mission. Nehemiah felt called to rebuild Jerusalem, not because an angel or prophet directly instructed him, but because he understood God’s will through Scripture. Likewise, you must ensure that your life aligns with God’s will. Without being in His will, it’s impossible to fulfill your calling or experience true blessings.

God can guide you through supernatural means — visions, dreams, or prophetic words. However, even without those signs, you already have His Word to start your journey. Begin by seeking His will in Scripture. It may not give you specific step-by-step instructions, but it will reveal the path you need to follow. Align your life with God’s will and remove anything that doesn’t belong. Before making any significant decisions, ask: “Lord, is this Your will?” Ensure that your choices align with His Word, bring peace, and bear good fruit.

Living with Purpose: Embracing Your Missionary Role

Nehemiah’s success came from his clear sense of mission. He wasn’t just pursuing a personal project; he was fulfilling a divine calling. Similarly, you have a mission from God. The term “mission” is directly related to “missionary.” While you may not think of yourself as a traditional missionary, the Bible says otherwise. Scripture teaches that you are not of this world — your true home is in Heaven. Therefore, Earth is your mission field.

Living with this perspective changes everything. Earth is not your permanent home; it’s where you’ve been sent to fulfill a purpose. If you view Earth as your home, you’ll become too comfortable. But if you see it as your mission field, you’ll stay focused on your divine assignment.

Every day, remind yourself: “I am a child of Heaven, sent on a mission.” When you wake up, your prayer shouldn’t be, “Lord, help me get through this day.” Instead, it should be, “Lord, I have a mission today. What is my purpose? How can I accomplish Your will? How can I leave this world better than I found it?”

Shifting Your Focus from Problems to Purpose

Living with a mission-focused mindset changes how you deal with challenges. Problems become obstacles to overcome, not reasons to give up. When you’re focused on your purpose, you won’t be consumed by your struggles. Instead, you’ll press forward, knowing that your mission is greater than any temporary setback.

Nehemiah’s mission wasn’t easy, but he persevered because he knew he was doing God’s work. You must do the same. Keep your eyes on your mission and trust that God will guide you every step of the way. Ask for His direction daily and move forward with confidence, knowing that you are a missionary in a world that needs God’s love and redemption.

Practical Steps to Living on a Mission:

  1. Seek God’s Will: Regularly spend time in Scripture and prayer to understand God’s will for your life.
  2. Align Your Life: Make sure your actions, decisions, and goals are aligned with His purposes.
  3. Ask for Confirmation: Before making significant decisions, ask for God’s peace, counsel, and confirmation.
  4. Embrace Your Mission: Recognize that you are a missionary, sent to make an impact in your community and beyond.
  5. Shift Your Perspective: Focus on your purpose rather than your problems. Trust that God is using you to build His Kingdom.

Remember, you are not here by accident. You have a divine mission. Live each day with purpose, knowing that you are sent by God to make a difference in this world. Embrace your calling, seek His will, and walk confidently in your mission.
