The Mystery of Christ’s Divinity and Messiahship

He was with God, yet He is God. How can someone be with God and still be God? That is the mystery. But the Bible clearly states it: “the Logos” – the Word, which is the Messiah. In Revelation 1:7, it says, “Who is, who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” This is a direct reference to the Messiah, the Almighty, the only One who is truly Almighty – Jehovah Adonai.

In Ephesians 4:7-8, we find another profound truth. It says, “When He ascended on high, He led captives in His train and gave gifts to men.” Here, Ephesians is quoting Psalm 68:18, which speaks of God, the Lord of Israel, yet in the New Testament, it is describing what the Messiah did. This demonstrates that the Messiah is indeed God.

Now, one often-overlooked detail in the Bible relates to a single Greek word: kurios. What does kurios mean? It translates to “Lord.” This Greek word is a translation of two Hebrew words: Adonai and Yahweh. In many Bible passages, when referring to “the Lord,” the word kurios signifies either of these two divine names. Thus, when the New Testament refers to Jesus as kurios (the Lord), it is identifying Him with God, not just as a lord, but as the One true Lord.

In John 14:6, Jesus Himself says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” He doesn’t say He is true; He says He is the truth. Only God can be the truth, because truth itself is a divine attribute.

Colossians 2:8-9 emphasizes this further: “For in Him all the fullness of deity dwells in bodily form.” This statement affirms the complete divinity of Jesus in human form.

Philippians 2:6 reveals another powerful truth: “Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made Himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant.” This is a clear reference to Jesus’ pre-existence as God, His equality with God, and His humility in becoming human.

Now, many cults will attempt to twist these scriptures. They try to distort the clear meaning of the Bible by claiming that Jesus isn’t truly God. But the truth is undeniable.

In the opening of the Gospel of John, we read: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” This is a profound mystery. The Word, which refers to the Logos (Messiah), was both with God and is God. How can this be? It is a divine mystery. But it is clearly stated in John 1:14 that “the Word became flesh” – and that Word is Jesus, the Messiah. Thus, Jesus, the Logos, is God.

When Jehovah’s Witnesses come to your door, remember this truth. While they zealously spread their message, they do not have the truth. We do, and it is our responsibility to share it with others.
