The Extremes and Balance of the Spirit

Right. Everybody open up to Luke 24. If you don’t have your vows, you just wanna listen.
That’s OK too. Verse 47. This is Messiah speaking at the end and that repentance for forgiveness of sin would be proclaimed in his name to all the nations beginning from Jerusalem.
You are witnesses of these things and behold, I am sending the promise of my father upon you.
You are to stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.
There are a lot of different ideas among believers.
When it comes to the subject of the spirit, there are two extremes in the body.
Those who deny what the Bible says of the Spirit in the life of believers and saying what the Bible says, concerning the gifts and powers and manifestations that had an expiration date on it.
That when the Bible was finished, there was no more need for what happened in the book of Acts, the falling of the spirit, the gift and the powers of the spirit.
It’s over. And generally those who hold that believe they are putting the emphasis on God’s word and they’re being grounded.
But the thing is this view is totally in conflict with the word of God.
It is not grounded in any way, shape or form, it is ungrounded. That’s one extreme.
But here’s the other, the other extreme is found among believers who make their focus the gifts of the spirit as the focus of their faith or make their focus speaking in tongues or who speak for God as if they, it’s God speaking in the spirit.
But when it’s not God and, and any manifestation is God, but it’s not or believe that anything out of order is the spirit or that they are the only true spirit filled believers or that they could do what they want, go against anything.
And they, as long as they say, I’m doing it in the spirit, both are extremes and are not balanced, we must be balanced.
The balance is this, there is nothing in the Bible limiting or saying that what God did in the book of Acts is finished.
In fact, he said go, this goes on.
Secondly, the spirit of God is alive and well now, as much as he was in the book of Acts, the anointing of the spirit, the gift, the power of the spirit, the powers of the spirit are also have never stopped.
But on the other side, the focus of our faith is not, the gifts is not, is not, but it’s all, it’s God himself through Messiah and Messiah, our salvation.
God does speak and move in dramatic ways. We must seek what God has for us, what the spirit has.
But we must also test the spirit discern what is of God and what is not.
There are far more counterfeits than there are the jewel that appears far more counterfeits in the body of what is to be the spirit than the real spirit.
We must be grounded in the word and at the same time, open in the spirit to live by the word and live by the spirit.
Actually, the spirit and the word go together.
