The Disease of Double-Minded // Death To Distraction: Week 3 // Pastor Michael Todd
I’m so grateful that you’re joining us for today’s message! Today is truly special because we are celebrating 26 years of God’s faithfulness at Transformation Church—10 of those years under the leadership of Pastor Natalie and me. Let me tell you, God has been faithful beyond measure!
As we celebrate this incredible journey, I knew I had to bring a message that is one of the most important and decisive I’ve ever shared. So, I invite you to join us as we continue with Week 3 of our powerful series, “Death to Distraction.”
But before we dive in, I just want to take a moment to thank each and every one of you for being part of this movement. Over the past 10 years, Transformation Church has grown tremendously through this platform—because of you sharing, engaging, and allowing God to transform your life. The team recently told me that 88.3 million hours of content have been watched on this very channel—that’s the equivalent of 127 lifetimes! Wow! Because of this, lives have been changed, people have been brought out of darkness into the light, and entire families have been transformed.
I love you all, and I truly believe the next 10 years will be even greater! If this ministry has blessed you in any way, I ask you to do two things:
- Share this message with someone who needs a transformation in their life.
- Pray about giving, so we can continue reaching and blessing even more people.
Today’s message will change your life, so get ready as we dive into Week 3 of “Death to Distraction.” God bless you!
Now, let me be honest with you. Standing here 10 years later, I can tell you—I didn’t always know if I would make it. But that’s what faith is all about! I want to encourage you today: when you ask God to do something in your life, He will often show you either the picture or the path—but rarely both. He wants you to trust Him.
It would be much easier if He gave us the full blueprint, showing exactly where we start and where we’ll end. But if He did that, many of us would stop depending on Him. That’s why He calls us to a life of faith, walking step by step with Him.
In 2014, when Bishop shared his succession plan and told me that I would become Lead Pastor, let me tell you—I was shocked! I wasn’t behind the scenes planning or positioning myself for it. You know how some people secretly desire something but pretend they don’t? That wasn’t me at all. I had a completely different plan in motion. But then God tapped me on the shoulder and said, “I have need of you.”
And now, as I stand here today, I am humbled. If I had to describe how I feel in one word, it would be sober. I am fully aware that everything that has happened is purely the hand of God. I see how He has shaped and grown me in ways that I could never have achieved outside of His plan. I realize that this ministry and calling didn’t just impact others—it saved my marriage.
So many times, the things we try to escape from are actually the very things that protect us. I want to say this to every young person listening: I still feel young, but I have experienced so much—because I said yes to God early.
Let me be clear: The lie that culture is selling you—that you have plenty of time to say yes to God later—is exactly what will make you miss out on the most vibrant years of serving Him. It feels like I just started, yet it’s already been a decade!
I recently told my team, “I’m ready to run! What’s next?” I feel like God has renewed my strength after 10 years of faithfulness. But can you believe that I became Lead Pastor at just 28 years old? Bishop, what were you thinking?!
Now, at 38, I realize that my early ‘yes’ to God added years of effectiveness to my purpose. When I look at how God has worked in my life and in this ministry, another 10 years seems like nothing! I am excited for what’s to come, and I want to thank Transformation Church for being a place that is truly committed to representing God to both the lost and the found—for one purpose: Transformation in Christ.
Now, I told the team—we’re still going to celebrate! 🎉 We can pop confetti after service, and we have a full party waiting in the lobby. This is not a party you want to miss! We’ve brought in a DJ, and let me just say—some of y’all need to loosen up and have some fun again! 😆
Transformation Nation, thank you for being part of what God is doing. We’re going to celebrate, and if you have a special memory with Pastor Natalie, Bishop, or me, we would love for you to share it!
Let’s keep moving forward in faith—because the best is yet to come!
This version keeps the heart of the message but enhances clarity, structure, and SEO effectiveness. Let me know if you need any refinements!
