Michael Todd Daily Devotional – October 22, 2026
If your heart feels a little worn, a little stretched, or even a little unsure today, you are not alone. God sees you right where you are on this October 22, and He has not lost track of a single detail of your life. As you pause to read this devotional, imagine the Lord gently placing His hand on your shoulder and reminding you, “I am with you in this.” Today’s prayer focus is about learning to trust God not just with your eternity, but with your everyday—your schedule, your stress, your family, your bank account, your health, and even the questions you don’t know how to put into words. Hope is not a theory for believers; hope is a Person, and His name is Jesus. Let’s lean in and allow the Holy Spirit to breathe fresh courage and steady faith into our hearts.
Anchored by God’s Promise Today
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5–6, NIV) This verse is more than a memory verse from childhood—it is a daily roadmap. God is inviting you to stop carrying the crushing weight of figuring everything out on your own. Trusting with “all your heart” means surrendering the parts that still want control, the fears that wake you up at 3 a.m., and the plans that didn’t unfold the way you hoped. When you acknowledge God in all your ways—your parenting, your deadlines, your budget, your dreams—He doesn’t promise a perfect path, but He does promise a straight one: a path directed, corrected, and protected by His love.
Walking Out Faith in Real Life
Faith grows in the middle of real, messy life—school drop-offs, long commutes, medical reports, and quiet battles no one else sees. Today, instead of asking, “How will I handle this?” try asking, “Lord, how do You want to meet me in this?” Before you scroll, breathe. Before you worry, whisper His name. Before you react, pause and invite the Holy Spirit to guide your words and decisions. Maybe for you, practical faith looks like forgiving someone who hurt you, making a phone call you’ve been avoiding, or finally bringing your anxiety to God instead of pretending you’re fine. Little acts of obedience open the door for big moves of God. You don’t have to be perfect to be surrendered; you just have to be willing. The same God who parted seas can calm your schedule, soften your heart, and lead you step by step.
Faith That Grows in the Quiet Places
Father, in Jesus’ name, I bring my faith to You—weak in some places, strong in others, but fully Yours. Grow in me a faith that is not built on feelings, but on Your unchanging Word. Teach me to trust Your timing when I feel rushed, Your wisdom when I feel confused, and Your heart when I feel disappointed. Strengthen my spiritual muscles through worship, prayer, and time in Scripture. Help me to believe You not just for heaven someday, but for the details of my life today. When doubts whisper that You are distant, remind me that You are closer than my breath. Align my desires with Your will, and make my life a living testimony of Your faithfulness. Lord, I choose to rest in the truth that what You start, You finish, and what You promise, You perform.
Grace Over Our Homes and Relationships
Lord, I lift my family and closest relationships to You. Cover my home with Your peace. Where there has been tension, bring understanding. Where there has been silence, open healthy conversation. Heal old wounds and break unhealthy patterns that have run through generations. Strengthen marriages, restore broken connections between parents and children, and knit our hearts together in Christlike love. Teach us to serve one another, to speak with kindness, and to forgive quickly. Protect our loved ones today—whether they are across the country, in another city, or under the same roof. Let our homes in America shine as small but powerful outposts of Your kingdom: places where Your presence is welcome, Your Word is honored, and Your love is felt in practical, everyday ways.
Healing for Body, Mind, and Soul
Jesus, You are the Great Physician, and I bring every area of health before You. For my body, I ask for strength, energy, and healing from sickness, pain, and chronic
