Kathryn Kuhlman – Daily Devotional for October 05, 2026
As you step into this new day, pause for a moment and quiet your heart before the Lord. Maybe you woke up carrying questions, worries, or a deep need for God to move in a way only He can. Kathryn Kuhlman often reminded people that the greatest miracle is not what happens with our eyes, but what happens in our hearts when we fully yield to the Holy Spirit. Today, God is inviting you to trust Him more deeply, to expect His presence in ordinary moments, and to believe again that nothing is impossible with Him. You are not forgotten, you are not unseen, and you are certainly not unloved. The Holy Spirit is near, and this day can become a holy encounter if you will simply open your heart.
Anchored by the Word
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8, ESV)
This simple, powerful verse holds the kind of truth that sustained Kathryn Kuhlman’s entire ministry. The same Jesus who healed the sick, comforted the broken, and welcomed the outcast has not changed. Your circumstances shift, feelings rise and fall, and seasons come and go—but Jesus remains constant. When you feel shaky, remember that your faith is not built on your own strength or emotions; it is anchored to the unchanging character of Christ. His compassion for you today is as real and strong as it was for the people in the Gospels. When you pray, you are speaking to the living, present, unchanging Savior who knows your name and your story.
Living Surrendered in the Everyday
Kathryn Kuhlman often said, “I surrendered everything to Him—everything.” That wasn’t just for the stage or the spotlight; it was for the unseen moments when no one else was watching. Today, you have the same invitation: surrender your schedule, your plans, your worries, and your fears to the Lord. This doesn’t mean you stop trying or caring; it means you lean on God instead of carrying everything alone.
In your daily life, surrender can look like a whispered, “Lord, I need You” before a meeting, or choosing to forgive instead of holding a grudge. It can mean trusting God with your children, your health report, or your job situation. When you release control, you make room for the Holy Spirit to work. As you go through this day, keep turning your thoughts back to Him. When anxiety rises, say, “Jesus, You have not changed. You are still my healer, my provider, my peace.” Little by little, He transforms your worry into worship and your fear into faith.
Growing Deeper in Faith and Trust
Heavenly Father, in the quiet of this moment, I ask You to deepen my faith. I don’t want to live on yesterday’s encounters with You; I want a fresh touch from Your Spirit today. Teach me to trust You when I don’t understand, to cling to Your promises when my feelings argue with my faith, and to remember that You are always at work, even when I cannot see it.
Lord, increase my spiritual hunger. Let me desire Your presence more than comfort, recognition, or control. Help me to listen for the gentle leading of the Holy Spirit and to obey quickly when You prompt my heart. Give me grace to lay down my will so that Your will can be done in me and through me. Strengthen me to stand firm when trials come, to believe in Your goodness when circumstances are painful, and to keep my eyes fixed on Jesus—the Author and Finisher of my faith. Today, I choose to trust You with my story.
Covering Our Homes with Peace
Father, I bring my family and loved ones before You. You see every relationship, every unspoken tension, every need. I ask for Your peace to fill our home and our hearts. Where there has been misunderstanding, bring clarity. Where there has been hurt, bring healing and forgiveness. Teach us to love one another with patience and grace.
Lord, surround my children, spouse, parents, and extended family with Your presence. Protect them from harm, from destructive influences, and from the lies of the enemy. Restore broken relationships and soften hardened hearts. Let our conversations be seasoned with kindness and truth. May our home be a place where Your name is honored, Your Word is cherished, and Your Spirit is welcomed. Let love, unity, and joy mark our family, and use us as a light to those around us
