How To Become A Confident Believer
Jonathan Cahn shares how the enemy is trying to take your confidence in God and stop the purposes. How do you become a confident believer?
You’ve been given a purpose—fight for it. If God has placed a calling on your life, defend it. If He’s entrusted you with a ministry, stand your ground. If you have a marriage, fight for it. If you have a family, protect it. If you carry purity in your heart, guard it with all you’ve got. Whatever God has placed in your life—stand up and fight for it.
One of the key lessons in the Book of Nehemiah is confidence—not in ourselves, but in God. The enemies of God always seek to shake our confidence, to cause confusion, and to halt His plans. But through Nehemiah, God restored the people’s confidence. And what happened? The enemies lost theirs. Victory goes to the one who stands firm—not in pride, but in faith.
The word “confidence” comes from Latin—con fide—which means with faith. If you have faith in God, you have every reason to be confident. God wants you secure in His promises, unwavering in His word, and bold in the calling He placed on your life. Be confident in His love, His grace, His mercy, and His forgiveness—not in your own strength, but in His.
You may feel unqualified, but God’s grace qualifies you. You can’t be underqualified for your own calling. It’s yours by divine appointment. Others don’t need to convince you to step into ministry or your purpose—you simply need to ask, “Lord, how can I be part of what You’re doing?”
In Nehemiah’s time, when the enemies—Sanballat, Tobiah, the Arabs, the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites—saw that the wall of Jerusalem was being rebuilt and the breaches were closing, they became furious. They conspired to attack and bring confusion. That’s what the enemy does—he strikes when progress is being made. But Nehemiah didn’t panic. He prayed to God and set up guards day and night.
Take everything to God. When you’re under attack, run to your Father. Let Him be your defender. Nehemiah also acted—he stationed people with swords and bows to protect the exposed areas. That’s a picture for us: Build with one hand, and fight with the other.
You can’t build God’s kingdom without being ready for battle. But don’t mistake the enemy for people—your fight is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces. So don’t get stuck in conflict. Don’t dwell on what others did. Fight, but keep building.
Some people spend all their energy fighting and never move forward. Don’t be one of them. Stay constructive. Stay focused on what God called you to do. Remember: your calling didn’t come from man, and man can’t take it away—especially not negative people who tear down but never build.

It was always Israel, but hard problems have made me thinking if I\'m right.

For my daughter, Denise Bale. Her right shoulder blade is out of place and her first rib won’t stay in place. The top of her right shoulder muscle is swollen and she has much pain. I pray with her every night that God would touch that area and bring healing by causing things to go back into place where it should be. Please join us in prayer that this will happen. Praying by the precious blood and mercy of Jesus. Amen
