Thursday, July 20, 2023 – The Words of This Life
In Acts 5, an angel frees the disciples from jail and tells them, “Go to the temple… speak all the words of this life.” He didn’t say preach Christianity, the New Testament, religion or even the Gospel. What does this mean? It’s simple. What is it that we’ve come to know? Life. Real life, that’s our faith, this life. Other things masquerade as life that aren’t really living. But God called you to this life. Messiah is called the Prince of Life. It’s not just some doctrine or religious precept. It’s not merely some faith statement. It is life itself. It’s not a part of life. You can’t just fit it into your schedule. It’s the reason you live, the reason you work, the reason you talk, the reason you do everything. That’s what it has to be. Get everything in your life, into this life. Get everything centered on Messiah. Make this the reason you do and say everything. Because this is not just some religion. This is not just even a major part of your life. This is life itself! This is life-your-life. Make it so!
What he’s saying here is do not follow the lead of man. Do not follow the tunes of culture.
Do not follow the playing of the enemy.
Tunes of negativity complaining divisiveness, some will come to you and say, Here, they start piping, come join in with my complaint, join in with my device to seek to trigger the enemies in it.
tunes of gloom. You know, armies have victory tunes. The enemy has a defeat tune for you.
He wants to trigger you with bad news and discourage overwhelm you and say, oh, oh, no. Woah.
And there are other tunes of anxiety tunes of panic.
Tunes of bitterness, tunes of victimhood, tunes that you go along, you’re singing it.
I want there was one I was working with with my 2 boys, L. E. L. and DIAL.
We were moving firewood outside. That’s not something I normally do.
It’s not something I’m used to doing, but we did And I tell them we gotta we had to do it every week.
Yeah. I did tell them, okay. We gotta do it again today.
And I noticed that my son, Ella, look, and he puts on a DVD on the television set, It’s an old show from the 19 sixties that I liked.
And I said, Eddie, I have a question for you.
Did you put that on so I would sit down and watch and forget about having you come out and do the five would?
And he smiles, and he said yes. I said, you were trying to manipulate your father.
And he said, mhmm. Yes. The enemy tries to manipulate manipulate you and you need to be aware of it.
Toons of seduction, just like companies on the Internet, All these things start popping up.
And so they knew they knew what you were on before, and they pop up. They put on your screen.
So the enemy tries to do that with your mind. or with things happening around you.
You can even prompt yourself. You start playing a tune in your mind, a tune of self pity, and it becomes a symphony.
You can tempt yourself. You start that little thing. Well, let me see.
And then it becomes a symphony of seduction that’s very hard to resist because you gave it all that energy.
As a teenager, I had a rock band, and one person would start playing one chord, one riff, and the rest would pick up.
And we’d we’d play along with it. The enemy does the same thing.
he’s got bands, and he’s got ensembles and groups.
Like, it might be a family thing, a family gathering you go there.
The family is used to playing a certain kind of tune. One strikes one chord.
You don’t wanna bitter about this.
You did this, and then the other one strikes that chord and that chord and that chord to prompt you to play your old part that you used to play in that band.
And you fall on the say you can fall on the same old tune, but here’s the thing.
What Messiah is saying is you don’t have to play to anybody’s tune.
If it’s a bad tune, you don’t have to play to it.
or dance to it or act or do anything. In fact, you you are not to do that.
What he’s saying here is do not follow The lead of men. Do not follow the tunes of culture.
Do not follow the playing of the enemy. You are not of the world.
You are not of that song anymore.
Even if you followed it up till now, in god, you are new.
And stop worrying about what they’re thinking because every time you’re worrying about what people are thinking, You’re opening yourself up to be prompted and to go along with something you shouldn’t be going along with.
You should only be concerned what god is thinking.
and you have the power to not go along with it anymore. Messiah didn’t play the games of man.
When they tried to provoke him, He just got right. He just he just he just they say something.
He goes right above them, or they try to flatter him, goes right above him.
You get the sense he’s not responding to them. He’s he’s he’s responding to god, the father.
When I was a boy, at one point, I had a we had a ping pong set, and And I was I became really good at it, and kids called me up, and a kid called me up.
A friend says, I don’t believe you can beat me.
I I I could be I don’t I can beat you. I said, oh, yeah. Come over here.
The guy came over here. The guy didn’t know how to play ping pong at all.
I said, what do you what do you say about this? I wiped him out.
He said, I just wanted you to invite me over.
The enemy knows how to get you to do something you’re not realizing if you’re not if you he says, if you he goes to he goes to Messiah.
If you are the son of god, If you are the son of god, you know, then do this.
What’s he trying to do? He’s trying to make Messiah, go with his tomb. Go with my prompting.
I will if you are the messiah, throw yourself down. If you are messiah, perform the miracle.
He’s trying to get messiah to do what he wants, trigger bow down, worship me.
And Messiah, at every point, no, I am not dancing to this.
I am not going along with this from the very beginning of his ministry. He knew his calling.
He knew his purpose. He knew his mission. He held on to that to the voice of the father.
He wasn’t moved to the left or the right. You gotta do the same thing.
The enemy will use anything he can. You don’t have to do it anymore.
You don’t have to dance to the to the tune of anger anymore.
You don’t have to dance the tune of fear and anxiety and depression. You don’t have to.
Some people operate by their temper to intimidate others. You don’t have to live by that. In god, you can’t.
You got and and someone may be doing that in your life and you react one way or another.
They call you know, if someone does this, you might react in fear, it might become this, or you might react in anger back, but you’re still playing to it.
You may be dealing with a person with a lot of issues.
That doesn’t mean it has to be your issue. It’s not your song. This is not my problem.
I’ll pray for you, but I’m not going along with this. I’m not gonna fear it.
I’m not gonna I’m not gonna submit to it. I’m not gonna come back at anger over it.
I’m gonna pray for you. As not only others, you have to decide you’re not gonna dance to the old tune.
You might be dancing to. You know when you have something in your head, if you have literally a tune and you it’s stupid you want it out of it, well, You have to also say about old things in your life that are not what god wants for you anymore.
You have to say this is not my song. I am not going with it anymore.
I don’t have to be living this way.
I don’t have to be flaunting or fearing the acceptance or rejection of man.
I’m on to be his men his messenger of heaven.
