What do you do when the pain doesn’t just fade away? When the wounds aren’t just surface-level—but cut deep into your soul? Today’s message is for anyone who has ever asked, “Can I truly be whole again?”

Joyce Meyer opens this powerful conversation with the reminder that while God can heal instantly, more often, healing is a process—and it’s okay to be in process. Whether it’s abuse, rejection, abandonment, or the quiet pain no one else sees, God has not overlooked it. He’s in it with you.

Joined by Aaron and special guest Nona Jones, this episode of Enjoying Everyday Life kicks off a much-needed series on soul healing. As women especially, we often walk around with hidden hurts—nicks, scratches, and sometimes deep wounds from our past. But the good news? God has an answer for every wound, no matter how deep.

Nona’s story is heartbreaking yet deeply redemptive. Abused as a child and even abandoned emotionally by her own mother, she once believed she would always live a second-rate life. But God had other plans. Through the love of a classmate who invited her to church, a seed of hope was planted. She encountered the truth: God is a Father to the fatherless. That truth became the turning point in her life.

Psalm 147:3 says, “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” That’s not a metaphor. That’s a promise. Joyce shares from her own experience of growing up with a father who abused her and a mother who stayed silent. She confesses that the hardest thing to heal from wasn’t just the abuse—it was the betrayal of trust and the feeling of being unworthy of protection.

But here’s the truth they all came to realize: healing begins when we allow God to touch what we’ve hidden, when we stop pretending we’re fine and allow Him into the pain.

Joyce reminds us that Christians often live saved but broken—still carrying pain, regrets, and secrets. And while we may feel we have to “just live with it,” that’s not God’s plan. He didn’t just save you for heaven—He came to restore your life here on earth.

God lifts us from the pit, steadies our steps, and places a new song in our mouths—so others may see His goodness and come to trust in Him.

But healing isn’t possible without forgiveness. Joyce and Nona both emphasize that forgiveness is not about letting someone off the hook—it’s about setting yourself free. Holding onto bitterness doesn’t give us power. It gives our past control over our future. Forgiveness breaks the cycle.

There’s no such thing as “less painful” wounds in God’s eyes. Whether your pain comes from abuse, disappointment, or being overlooked—He sees it, and He wants to heal it. He doesn’t compare wounds. He simply comes to heal them.

Maybe your heart has been silently screaming for years, or maybe you’ve told yourself it wasn’t that big of a deal. But every small wound matters to God.

Take the first step. Invite Jesus into the places you’ve sealed off for years. Let Him whisper healing where no one else can. And know this: you are not too far gone, too broken, or too damaged to be made whole.

You don’t have to live with the pain forever. God is near to the brokenhearted, and He promises to restore your soul.
