Finish Strong With God’s Favor | Steven Furtick

How Can We Pray For You? Have you signed up yet?

Reflecting on the past year, you might be focused on your failures, but Jesus offers a powerful message: “I want to set up a rematch. I want to redeem this year, January, February, and beyond. I’m stepping into the last month to ensure you finish with favor.”

“Thank you, Jesus! I receive your favor, your grace, and your righteousness. You defeated the devil that was tormenting me, took away the sin that suffocated me, and stripped away the shame that sabotaged my life. You’ve broken the chains of fear, the burden of frustration, and I no longer have to fight from a place of defeat. I don’t wrestle against flesh and blood. The Spirit of the Lord is upon me; He has anointed me, and He has broken the cycle of failure off my life.”

When you’re afraid or frustrated, it’s easy to fall back into familiar behaviors—like calling loved ones names or lashing out at those trying to help. Fear causes us to act out, just like Moses struck the rock twice in frustration. But here’s the powerful truth: when Jesus completed His time in the wilderness, the devil was defeated, but Jesus kept going. The enemy gave up before the Savior did.

You will overcome. You will endure and finish with favor. Yes, you may have started in a tough spot, but you’ll end with God’s favor. This is the message the Lord wants to share with you.

Luke 4:14 reminds us that Jesus left the wilderness “in the power of the Spirit,” not in defeat or pain. This highlights that God’s favor doesn’t mean the absence of trials; it means His continuous transformation in our lives, offering us patience and grace. Jesus outlasted the devil, and so will you.

The favor of God doesn’t stop the testing—it shapes you. Even when you feel like giving up, God’s spirit of perseverance will carry you through. And just as Jesus didn’t return in pessimism but in power, you, too, will overcome and move forward stronger.

In verse 16, Jesus returned to Nazareth and, as was His custom, went to the synagogue on the Sabbath. There, He unrolled the scroll of the prophet Isaiah, declaring, “The Spirit of the Lord is on me because He has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor.”

This is not just about circumstances or material wealth; it’s about favor. Jesus proclaimed good news, freedom, and healing for all who were oppressed, blind, or held captive. His message is one that defies reality—letting the weak say, “I am strong.”

This is the year of the Lord’s favor. It’s the breaking of chains, the removal of shame, and the arrival of true freedom.
