Dr. David Jeremiah Daily Devotional – May 31, 2026

As this new day begins, pause for a moment and listen beneath the noise. Somewhere under the worries about bills, health, family, and the future, your heart is quietly asking, “Lord, can I really trust You today?” If that is where you find yourself, you are not alone. Across the United States, believers are waking up with the same questions, the same needs, and the same longing to feel God’s nearness in very real and practical ways. Today’s devotional is an invitation to rest your tired heart in the steady hands of a faithful God who has never once forgotten you and never once failed to keep His word.

Anchored by God’s Unshakable Promise

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8, NKJV)

This verse is more than a comforting slogan; it is a rock beneath your feet. In a world that shifts overnight—interest rates, job markets, diagnoses, political tensions—there is One who does not change. The same Jesus who calmed storms on the Sea of Galilee is present in the storms swirling around your home and heart today. The same Savior who fed thousands with almost nothing is able to provide for your needs, even when your resources seem small. When everything feels uncertain, Hebrews 13:8 tells you where to fix your eyes: not on the news, not on your fears, but on the unchanging Christ who stands steady in every season.

Living Steady in an Unsteady World

Knowing that Jesus never changes gives you permission to breathe again. You do not have to carry tomorrow on your back. You are not required to have every answer for your children, your spouse, your boss, or your own anxious heart. Instead, you can live this day one simple step of obedience at a time.

Today, choose to anchor your mind by turning to God before you turn to your phone. Whisper a quiet, “Lord, I trust You,” before your feet hit the floor. Open your Bible, even if only for a few minutes, and ask the Holy Spirit to highlight one truth to carry with you. When worry rises at work or in the carpool line, refuse to rehearse worst-case scenarios. Instead, speak God’s promises aloud. This is how faith grows—one intentional, faith-filled choice at a time.

Prayer for Deepening Faith and Spiritual Growth

Father, in Jesus’ name, I ask You to deepen my faith today. Where I have allowed fear to speak louder than Your Word, forgive me. Teach me to trust that Your character never changes, even when my circumstances do. Grow in me a hunger for Your presence and Your Word. Help me to recognize Your voice above all others and to obey You quickly, even when I do not see the full picture. Strengthen my spirit so I will not be tossed around by emotions, opinions, or pressure. Let my roots go down deep into Christ, so that my life bears fruit that honors You. Draw me closer, Lord, and make this day a step forward in spiritual maturity and intimacy with You.

Prayer for Family and Home Life

Lord, I lift my family and loved ones before You. You see every tension, every unspoken hurt, every hope we hesitate to share. Bring peace into our home. Heal broken communication, soften hard hearts, and protect us from division. Teach us to listen well, to forgive quickly, and to love sacrificially. Cover my spouse, children, parents, and extended family with Your presence. Guard our comings and goings. Let our home be a place where Your name is honored, where Your Word is valued, and where Your joy replaces heaviness. Restore what the enemy has tried to steal and let Your peace reign over our household today.

Prayer for Health and Inner Strength

Gracious Healer, I bring my body, mind, and emotions to You. You know the aches, the fatigue, the diagnoses, and the silent fears. I ask for Your healing touch—restore what is broken, calm what is inflamed, correct what is out of order. Give my doctors and caregivers insight and wisdom. Strengthen my immune system and renew my energy. For the emotional burdens I carry—anxiety, sadness, stress—breathe Your peace over me. Replace heaviness with hope, confusion with clarity, and fear with the assurance of Your nearness. Help me care for this body as Your temple, and give me the strength I need
