Daily Devotional with David Diga Hernandez – Trusting God in the In-Between

If you feel caught between “what was” and “what will be,” this devotional is for you. Maybe you’re believing for healing that hasn’t shown up yet, a breakthrough that feels delayed, or a family situation that seems stubbornly unchanged. On this October 4, 2026, the Holy Spirit is whispering to your heart: “I see you. I have not forgotten you. Keep trusting Me in the in-between.” Today, let your heart slow down, your mind quiet, and your spirit lean into the presence of Jesus. He is nearer than your next breath, working in ways you cannot yet see, arranging details you don’t even know you need. This is not wasted time; this is holy ground where faith is shaped and strengthened.

Anchored by the Word

“Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.” (Psalm 37:5, ESV) This verse doesn’t say God might act or could act; it declares that He will act. Your responsibility is to commit your way to Him—your plans, fears, schedules, deadlines, and uncertainties—and to trust Him with the outcome. When David wrote these words, he understood what it meant to wait on God in the middle of battles, accusations, and delays. The promise is simple but powerful: as you surrender your path to the Lord, He personally involves Himself in your story. Your trust becomes the doorway through which His power and wisdom flow into your life.

Living Faith in Ordinary Moments

Faith is not just for church services and crisis moments; it’s for Monday mornings, traffic jams, school runs, and late-night worries. One of the most spiritual choices you can make today is to pause and say, “Jesus, I trust You with this.” When a text message triggers anxiety, when bills arrive, or when your body feels weak, turn those moments into invitations for God’s presence. Take a deep breath and remind yourself: “My Father is with me in this exact situation.” Let faith show up in small decisions—choosing forgiveness instead of bitterness, gratitude instead of complaining, prayer instead of panic. Those quiet, hidden decisions shape your character and open your heart to deeper fellowship with the Holy Spirit.

Prayer for Growing Faith and Deeper Surrender

Lord Jesus, I bring my faith journey before You today. Where my faith has grown tired, breathe fresh life. Where doubt has taken root, plant Your truth instead. Teach me to trust You when I understand and when I don’t. Holy Spirit, draw me closer into daily fellowship with You. Help me to love Your presence more than answers, more than comfort, and more than control. Strengthen my spirit so that I stand firm when circumstances shift. I surrender my will, my timelines, and my expectations. Let my trust in You become stronger than my feelings, louder than my fears, and deeper than my questions. Shape me into someone who looks like Jesus, thinks like Jesus, and responds like Jesus. Amen.

Covering Our Homes with God’s Peace

Father, I lift my family and loved ones to You. You see every tension, every unspoken hurt, and every need. Bring Your peace into our homes today. Heal broken communication, soften hard hearts, and restore relationships that feel distant. Let forgiveness flow where there has been misunderstanding. Protect our marriages, strengthen our parents, and guard the hearts of our children. May our homes become places where Your presence is felt, where worship is welcome, and where love is the atmosphere. Guide our conversations, our decisions, and our interactions so that Christ is honored in our families. Surround our loved ones with Your angels and keep them close to Your heart. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Prayer for Health, Strength, and Restoration

Lord, I bring my body, mind, and emotions before You. You are my Healer, and I look to You for strength. For every area of pain, fatigue, or sickness, I ask for Your healing touch. Let Your resurrection power flow through every cell, organ, and system in my body. Calm anxious thoughts and bring stillness to my mind. Lift the heaviness of discouragement and replace it with the joy of the Lord, which is my strength. Help me to steward my health with wisdom—through rest, wise choices, and listening to the nudges of Your Spirit. Remind me that my body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, created to carry Your glory. I receive Your strength and healing by faith, in Jesus
