Dating Distractions // Death To Distraction: Week 4 // Michael Todd
We are so glad you’re here today! We’ve been praying for you, and we truly believe that God has a message for you—one that has the power to transform your life.
We’re now in Week Four of our series, “Death to Distraction,” and as we step into this season of love, it’s important to seek wisdom—especially for those who are dating. But hold on! Married couples, don’t tune out just yet—this message is for you, too. It’s time to stop dating distractions and start focusing on the relationships God has destined for us.
Learning from Samson and Delilah: A Call to Focus
Today, we’ll take a deep dive into the story of Samson and Delilah, extracting powerful biblical principles to help us shift our focus toward God’s purpose. If you’ve been stuck in unhealthy relationship patterns—living together without commitment, engaging in “marriage-like” behavior without covenant—this message might just be the wake-up call you need.
At the end of today’s sermon, we’re offering a special opportunity for those ready to commit to God’s plan for their relationships. It’s called “Cuddle to Covenant”—a wedding event for couples who are ready to move from distraction to divine destiny. If this speaks to you, simply text MARRIED to 828-282 to receive more details.
Stay Focused on What Truly Matters
I know you might be wondering, “What is this sermon really about?”—well, we’re about to get into it! But before we do, if this message blesses you in any way, please share it with someone who might need it. Your share could be the key to their transformation.
Now, I know there’s a big game today—you’re probably getting ready to throw some wings on the grill. Enjoy it! Have fun with your friends and family. But let me remind you: the most powerful thing happening today isn’t the game—it’s hearing God’s voice.
For those of you who have made faith, church, and community a priority, even when culture tries to pull you away, I want to affirm that your focus is what truly matters. This year, at Transformation Church, our word is FOCUS.
The Power of Staying Focused
God isn’t removing distractions—He’s empowering you to stay focused despite them. Many of us want Him to magically take away our struggles—whether it’s a difficult job, a tough relationship, or financial stress. But that’s not how He works. God doesn’t change our circumstances just so we can focus—He calls us to focus in the middle of them.
Take Peter, for example. He walked on water—something no other human has done—when he was focused on Jesus. But the moment he looked around at the wind and waves, he began to sink.
So, I ask you:
👉 What are you forfeiting because of distraction?
👉 Are you drowning in stress, debt, or confusion—when you could be walking in faith?
God is saying: “Keep your eyes on Me.” Keep praying, keep reading the Bible, keep seeking Him. Don’t let distractions pull you away.
I know some of you might be thinking, “This message isn’t for me.” But let me challenge you—have you truly put it into practice? For the past three weeks, you might have thought this series was for someone else. But God is saying: You’re not fully focused yet.
No matter how much progress you’ve made in one area, there’s always more work to do. Spiritual growth is a lifelong process. Salvation is just the beginning—sanctification is the journey.
