The Lord had left, Judas was gone, and the disciples had to choose another to replace him. They chose Matthias, a substitute, yet he was actually better. His name means “Gift of God.” That says something to our life. God’s gift comes often as a substitute for what we hoped for. Salvation turns out to be a life that we didn’t plan for. It’s something that happens when what we wanted didn’t happen. Often we view what God does as second best. For example, your marriage might have fallen apart, your spouse left you for another person, or maybe you suffered great loss in your life, or career and you feel like you are living a consolation life. But remember Matthias. The substitute is actually a gift. God doesn’t give hand-me-downs, He only gives the best. Rejoice in what God has given you, and it will all work for good. Rejoice, because it will become God’s best. In God, there is no substitute for His best. He never gives substitutes, only gifts.

The Pandora’s box. And what does it have to do with America? And did America open it?

There’s an ancient myth of a woman named Pandora who opens up a container containing all evils once opened up the evils come upon the world.
They can’t be revoked. Could we have opened up our own Pandora’s box?
And the return of the gods, I write of an ancient mystery that’s now transforming our world.
In ancient times, the world was filled with gods.
And the Bible says that behind the gods were spirits, dark spirits.
When the gospel came into the world, the word of God came into the nations, it prevailed against the gods.
The spirit of God drove out the spirits of the dark or demonic spirits.
And so Western civilization was cleansed of these things of paganism of the gods of the spirits.
The Messiah gave a parable of a man or a house that’s delivered by a spirit, but then becomes repossessed by several spirits and worse off than before.
The key is the house or the man became empty of God.
And the warning is if America or Western civilization ever becomes empty of God or of the Gospel, then the door will be opened up.
The Pandora’s box will be opened up for the spirits.
The ancient dark spirits not to come out of a vessel, but to come back into it.
In the early 19 sixties, America began emptying itself of God started out small America removed prayer from its public schools and the Bible, then it began removing God from its public squares from its laws, from its discourse from its culture.
It was emptying itself of God of the faith of Jesus, of the gospel of the spirit.
But these were the very things that were protecting it.
These were the very safeguards that had delivered it, exercised it cast out that had cast out the spirits, what the Bible calls the ammonia from what you get the word demonic America didn’t realize what it was doing.
It was removing its edge, its protection against the darkness against the pagan spirits that had been cast out.
We were opening up the Pandora’s box. So what happened?
The spirits, the ancient spirits started coming back into American culture, spirits of paganism, spirits of materialism, spirits of sexual immorality, spirits of the sexual revolution, the destruction of marriage, the explosion in addiction, explosion in self destruction, suicide, the weakening and destruction of family, the war against and destruction of gender, male and female.
The confusion of the young, the self destruction of the young, the killing of unborn Children. It’s not finished.
We opened up the box and the spirits came in.
We thought it was a good idea to remove prayer from the young, the Children.
Now look at what has happened to the young, but it had to lead where it has led to a dark and pagan and demonic increasingly demonic America and a demonic future.
The answer, the only answer is that which we drove out to come back in.
The only answer is God. The answer is the word. The answer is the gospel. The answer is the hope.
The answer is Jesus is the Messiah Yeshua. The answer is the spirit.
The only answer is what has been missing. It’s the only thing that can undo it.
This is just a taste of the mystery revealed in the return of the gods.
