Paul Washer Daily Devotional – November 01, 2026
Today, as you step into a new day, God is not distant or indifferent to what you’re carrying in your heart. Whether you woke up with joy, anxiety, weariness, or quiet expectation, the Lord sees you. The same God who rescued you in Christ is the God who will sustain you, correct you, and comfort you. The kind of clear, serious, Christ-centered call to faith that Paul Washer often brings is not meant to crush you, but to drive you into the arms of a mighty Savior. This devotional is an invitation: not to try harder in your own strength, but to surrender more deeply, trust more fully, and walk more closely with Jesus right where you are today.
Anchored in the True Gospel
“For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.” (1 Corinthians 2:2, NASB)
Paul the apostle understood something that many of us forget in the noise of modern life: everything rises and falls on Christ and His cross. Real change, real peace, real hope do not come from self-improvement but from a Savior who died and rose again. Voices like Paul Washer remind us that the Christian faith is not a casual add-on to our lives; it is a total surrender to the Lordship of Jesus. This verse calls you, today, to bring your fears, sins, and secret struggles to the foot of the cross. There, forgiveness is not partial; it is complete. There, your identity is not your past; it is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
Walking Honestly Before God Today
You don’t have to pretend with God. He is not impressed by religious performance; He is moved by humble, repentant hearts that cling to Christ. When you feel like you’re failing as a spouse, parent, employee, or believer, remember that conviction from the Holy Spirit is a gift, not a curse. It leads you away from self-reliance and back to the grace of God. Today, set aside a moment to be brutally honest before the Lord. Confess what you’ve been hiding. Admit where you’ve grown cold. Ask Him to restore your first love for Jesus. Then take one practical step: open your Bible, meditate on a verse, and choose obedience in one small but concrete area—how you talk, how you work, or how you respond to someone difficult. Growth happens one surrendered moment at a time.
Drawing Near in Faith and Spiritual Growth
Father, in the name of Jesus, I ask You to deepen my faith today. Strip away every false confidence and remind me that without Christ I can do nothing, but through Him I can do what You call me to do. Teach me to love Your Word, to cherish Your presence, and to obey even when it is costly. Guard me from empty religion and shallow faith. Produce in me real repentance, godly sorrow over sin, and joyful trust in Your mercy. Let my spiritual life not be built on emotion alone, but on the unshakable truth of Your gospel. Grow my roots deep so that when storms come, I stand firm—not because I am strong, but because You are faithful.
Covering Our Homes with God’s Peace
Lord, I lift my family and loved ones before You. Enter every room of my home with Your peace. Heal broken communication, restore tenderness in marriages, and soften hearts that have grown distant or defensive. Protect our children from the lies of this world and draw them to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Where there is conflict, bring humility; where there is silence, bring honest conversation; where there is fear, bring the assurance of Your love. Let my home be a place where Your Word is honored, prayer is natural, forgiveness is practiced, and Christ is seen in how we treat one another. May Your presence be the atmosphere of our household.
Health, Strength, and Emotional Renewal
Gracious God, You know every ache in our bodies and every hidden pain in our hearts. I bring my health and the health of my loved ones to You. Grant healing where there is sickness, strength where there is fatigue, and comfort where there is chronic pain. Calm anxious thoughts and quiet racing minds. In seasons of depression, loneliness, or emotional numbness, shine the light of Christ into the darkest corners. Help me to steward my body well—to rest when I need rest, to seek wise medical help when needed, and to remember that my body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. Let Your joy
