John MacArthur Daily Devotional – October 25, 2026: Standing Steady in a Shaken World

If your heart feels pulled in a dozen directions today, you are not alone. Many believers across America wake up carrying concerns about their families, their health, their jobs, and the future of our nation. Yet in the middle of the noise, Jesus invites you to something deeper than anxiety—He invites you to steadfast confidence in Him. Today’s devotional is a quiet pause, a chance to let God’s Word reset your heart, strengthen your faith, and remind you that your life is held, moment by moment, in the hands of a faithful Savior.

Anchored by God’s Unshakable Word

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8, ESV)
In a world that constantly shifts, this verse is like bedrock under your feet. Everything around you changes—governments, economies, relationships, even your own emotions—but Jesus does not change. His character, His promises, His saving power remain steady. When fear whispers, “What if everything falls apart?” this verse answers, “Your Savior never will.”
Today, let your heart rest in this truth: the same Christ who saved you is the Christ who sustains you, leads you, and keeps you. He is not surprised by what you are facing. He is not struggling to keep up. He reigns, and He loves you.

Living Steady in an Unsteady Culture

Because Jesus is unchanging, you do not have to live at the mercy of headlines, opinions, or your latest mood swing. You can build your day around Him. That means turning to Scripture before scrolling the news, praying before reacting, and trusting His promises more than your fears.
When pressure hits at work, when your kids are struggling, or when your body feels weak, you can quietly tell your heart, “I am not standing on my own; I am standing on Christ.” Choose small acts of obedience today—speaking kindly when irritated, refusing to compromise your integrity, taking time to thank God in the middle of stress. Spiritual growth rarely comes through giant leaps; it usually comes through daily, steady steps of trust. The Lord sees those hidden choices, and He uses them to shape you into the image of His Son.

Drawing Near in Faith and Spiritual Growth

Father, thank You that my faith rests in a Savior who never changes. When doubts rise, pull my eyes back to Your Word. Grow my trust in You, not just on Sundays, but in the middle of ordinary Mondays and difficult Thursdays. Teach me to love what You love and to hate what You hate.
Strengthen my desire for prayer and Scripture. Give me a soft heart that responds quickly to Your conviction and Your comfort. When I feel weak, remind me that Your strength is made perfect in my weakness. Lead me deeper into repentance, deeper into worship, and deeper into obedience. Make my life a living testimony that Christ is enough, no matter what comes.

Covering Our Homes with God’s Peace

Lord Jesus, I lift my family and loved ones to You. Bring Your peace into our home—peace that guards our conversations, our decisions, and even the atmosphere of every room. Heal broken communication. Replace frustration with patience, distance with tenderness, and resentment with forgiveness.
Protect our marriages, strengthen parents, and guide children and grandchildren. Let our homes be places where Your name is honored, Your Word is read, and Your love is felt. Where there is tension, bring soft hearts. Where there is fear, bring reassurance. Let Your presence be the unseen guest at every meal and the quiet comfort in every long night.

Health, Strength, and Inner Wholeness

Lord, You know every ache, diagnosis, and silent worry about our health. I bring my body, mind, and emotions before You. Please grant strength where there is fatigue, healing where there is sickness, and calm where there is anxiety.
Guard my thoughts from spiraling into worst-case scenarios. Help me make wise choices—rest, nourishment, and healthy rhythms. Remind me that my body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and that even in weakness, You are glorified. Comfort those walking through chronic pain, treatments, or recovery. Let them sense Your nearness and Your power at work in their weakness.
