Pastor Greg Laurie Daily Devotional – October 4, 2026
Some mornings, the weight of life meets you before your feet even touch the floor. Your mind races with worries about family, bills, health, and a future that feels uncertain. Yet right now, in this very moment, the Lord is leaning close to you. He knows what you are carrying. He knows what you fear. And He invites you—not to pretend everything is fine—but to bring everything to Him. Today’s devotional is a gentle call to breathe, to slow down your anxious thoughts, and to remember that your life is held by a faithful God who has never once abandoned His people.
Anchored in a Unshakable Promise
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8, NIV) This single verse can steady a trembling heart. Everything around us changes—jobs, health reports, friendships, even our own emotions—but Jesus does not change. The same Savior who calmed storms, healed the broken, and forgave sinners walks with you today. His character is constant, His love is unwavering, and His power has not diminished. When you feel tossed around by news headlines or personal crises, remember: the One who loved you enough to die for you has not changed His mind about you. Hebrews 13:8 is your anchor when your feelings shout louder than your faith.
Living Hope in the Middle of Real Life
Faith was never meant to be a Sunday-only experience. It is what carries you through a stressful Monday meeting, a tense conversation with a teenager, or another trip to the doctor. Spiritual growth happens in the everyday moments when you choose to trust God instead of your fears. When anxiety rises, pause and whisper, “Lord, I choose to trust You right now.” When frustration flares, ask, “Jesus, how would You respond in this moment?” Little decisions like these, repeated over time, quietly reshape your heart. God is not asking you to be perfect; He is inviting you to keep turning toward Him, step by step, choice by choice. That is how hope deepens and faith matures.
Drawing Near in Faith Today
Lord Jesus, I come to You today with all that I am and all that I am not. Strengthen my faith where it is weak, and calm my heart where it is restless. Teach me to trust Your character even when I cannot see Your hand. Grow in me a deeper hunger for Your Word and Your presence. Help me to believe that You are truly the same yesterday, today, and forever, and that Your faithfulness to me has not changed. Lead me beyond shallow religion into a living, breathing relationship with You, where my first instinct is to turn to You in every situation. Increase my confidence in Your promises so that my faith shines even in dark seasons. In Your name, amen.
Covering Our Homes with God’s Peace
Father, I lift my family and loved ones to You. You see every story, every wound, every unspoken fear. Bring Your peace into our home and into our relationships. Heal what is broken between husbands and wives, parents and children, siblings and friends. Guard our conversations from harsh words and impatience. Fill our houses with forgiveness, understanding, and gentleness. Where there is distance, create new connection. Where there is bitterness, plant fresh grace. Surround our children and grandchildren with Your protection and godly influences. Let our homes be places where Your presence is felt, Your name is honored, and Your love is unmistakable. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Strength for Body, Mind, and Soul
Lord, I place my health and the health of those I love into Your hands. For anyone facing sickness, chronic pain, or unsettling medical news, stretch out Your healing hand. Guide doctors, nurses, and caregivers with wisdom and skill. For those battling anxiety, depression, or emotional exhaustion, pour in Your comfort and peace that surpass all understanding. Strengthen weary bodies and renew tired minds. Teach us to care for the bodies You have given us—with rest, wise choices, and good stewardship—while resting our ultimate hope in You, not in statistics or reports. Let Your healing presence cover every part of our being: spirit, soul, and body. In Jesus’ name, amen.
God’s Hand in Work and Provision
Heavenly Father, I bring my work, my finances, and my daily responsibilities before You. For those who are employed, bless their efforts and give them favor with supervisors, coworkers
