Pastor Greg Laurie Daily Devotional – October 3, 2026: Holding On to Hope

If your heart feels a little worn today, you are not alone. Maybe the news has been heavy, the bills are piling up, or a hidden worry keeps waking you in the middle of the night. As a follower of Jesus, you know you should trust God, but sometimes your emotions lag behind what you believe. Today’s devotional is meant to sit with you in that tension—right where real faith is forged. God is not frustrated with your weakness; He meets you in it. On this October day, pause, breathe, and remember: you are seen, you are loved, and you are not walking through this day by yourself. The same God who saved you is the God who will carry you, one step at a time.

Anchored by a Greater Hope

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8, ESV) In a world that shifts beneath our feet, this verse is a rock. Everything else changes—jobs, health, culture, even relationships—but Jesus remains unshakably constant. The One who loved you enough to die on the cross has not changed His mind about you. His character is steady when your emotions swing. His promises stay true when the future looks uncertain. This is more than theology; it is a lifeline. When anxiety rises, you can whisper, “Lord, You are the same. You were faithful in my past, You are with me in my present, and You will not fail me in my future.” That confession realigns your heart with the truth and invites God’s peace into the middle of your storm.

Living Out Trust in the Ordinary Moments

Trusting God is not just for big crises; it is forged in the ordinary, daily choices. You trust Him when you choose honesty at work, even if it costs you. You trust Him when you show kindness instead of snapping back. You trust Him when you open your Bible instead of scrolling your worries away. One simple practice for today: take one burden you are carrying—maybe a decision, a fear, or a relationship—and say out loud, “Lord, I release this to You.” Then picture placing it into His hands. This small act of surrender trains your heart to lean on Him instead of leaning on your own understanding. Over time, these daily moments of trust shape a life that is deeply rooted, even when the winds of life blow hard.

Drawing Near in Faith

Father, in Jesus’ name, I bring You my doubts, fears, and questions. Strengthen my faith today. Help me to trust Your heart when I cannot trace Your hand. Teach me to listen for Your voice in Scripture and respond in obedience, even when I feel hesitant. Grow in me a deeper hunger for Your presence. Let my faith not be built on feelings, but on Your Word, which never fails. Guard my mind from the lies of the enemy and from the pull of discouragement. Replace unbelief with fresh confidence in Your goodness. As I walk through this day, remind me that I am loved, forgiven, and called. Let my faith shine as a quiet but steady light to those around me who do not yet know You.

Covering Our Homes with Peace

Lord, I lift my family and loved ones to You. You see every tension, every unspoken hurt, every need. Bring Your peace into our home. Heal broken communication, soften hard places in our hearts, and give us grace to forgive quickly. Protect marriages, restore prodigal sons and daughters, and comfort those who feel alone. Let Your love be the atmosphere in our conversations. Help us to pray together, laugh together, and bear one another’s burdens. Surround our children and grandchildren with godly influences, protect them from deception, and draw their hearts close to You. May our home be a small sanctuary in a noisy world—a place where Your presence is felt, Your name is honored, and Your joy is known.

Health, Strength, and Healing in His Hands

Gracious God, I bring my body, mind, and emotions before You. For every pain, symptom, diagnosis, and fear, I ask for Your healing touch. Strengthen my immune system, renew my energy, and steady my thoughts. For those battling long-term illness, depression, anxiety, or hidden struggles, let them sense Your nearness right now. Give wisdom to doctors, nurses, and caregivers. Grant rest where there has been sleeplessness, and hope where there has been despair. Remind me
