Cultivating Courageous Faith: Craig Groeschel Daily Devotional – September 30, 2026
As you wake up on this September morning, God already knows every detail of what awaits you—every conversation, every email, every quiet ache in your heart. Maybe you feel fired up in your faith today. Maybe you’re worn thin, wondering how you’ll make it through another long week. Wherever you are, this is for you. You are not reading by accident. God is inviting you to slow down, breathe deeply, and remember that He is closer than your next breath and stronger than your biggest fear. Today, you don’t have to perform for Him. You don’t have to pretend to be okay. You can come as you are—tired, hopeful, confused, determined—and place it all in His hands. Right now, He is ready to strengthen you, steady you, and lead you. Let’s lean in together and trust that He will meet us in this moment.
Steady Hearts in a Shaken World
“The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalm 27:1, NIV). David wrote these words while surrounded by danger and uncertainty. He didn’t say the problems disappeared; he said that in the middle of them, the Lord was his light, salvation, and stronghold. A light shows the way when everything feels dark. Salvation reminds us that God has already won the ultimate battle. A stronghold is a place of safety that cannot be shaken. When fear whispers, “You’re not going to make it,” this verse answers, “The Lord is my stronghold.” You may feel fragile, but your God is not. He holds you steady, even when everything else feels unstable.
Living Faithfully in the Middle of the Mess
Most days don’t look like a highlight reel. They look like rushing to work, packing lunches, responding to texts, fighting distractions, and quietly battling worries no one else sees. Following Jesus is rarely flashy, but it is powerful. Faith grows in the small, hidden choices: choosing prayer instead of panic, forgiveness instead of bitterness, obedience instead of convenience. Today, when anxiety spikes, pause and whisper, “Lord, I trust You.” When you feel overlooked, remind yourself, “God sees me, and that is enough.” When you’re tempted to compare your life to others, thank God for one specific blessing in your own. Little choices of faith build a life anchored in Christ. You don’t have to fix everything today. You just need to stay close to the One who can.
Drawing Near to God With Bold Faith
Father, today I choose to trust You again. Strengthen my faith where it feels weak and fragile. Remind me that You are working even when I don’t see anything changing. Teach me to listen for Your voice instead of the noise of fear and doubt. Guard my heart from discouragement and cynicism. I ask You to grow my hunger for Your Word and Your presence. Help me to believe Your promises more than my feelings. When I feel overwhelmed, pull me close and remind me that You are my light, my salvation, and my stronghold. Give me courage to obey You in the small things and the big things, knowing that You are always faithful. Let my life reflect Your goodness and bring You glory today.
Grace Over Every Household
Lord, I lift my family and loved ones to You. Cover our homes with Your peace. Heal broken conversations, old misunderstandings, and quiet resentments. Draw husbands, wives, parents, children, and extended family closer to You and to each other. Protect marriages from division and hard hearts. Give parents wisdom, patience, and strength to lead with humility and love. Surround our children and grandchildren with godly influences and friends who point them to You. Where there is tension, bring tenderness. Where there is distance, create new connection. Let our homes become places where Your presence is welcome, Your name is honored, and Your love is clearly seen. Wrap every person connected to us in Your care today.
Strength for Body, Mind, and Soul
Heavenly Father, I bring my health and the health of those I love before You. You see every diagnosis, every unspoken ache, every test result, and every hidden battle. I ask for healing in the name of Jesus—for bodies to be strengthened, pain to be relieved, and chronic conditions to be stabilized or completely restored. For those walking through sickness,
