Dr. Bill Winston: The Kingdom Within You – Living From The Inside Out
Are you searching for a deeper understanding of the Kingdom of God and what it truly means to live as a believer? Many in today’s world look everywhere for answers, but as followers of Christ, we’re called to find our source, supply, and destiny in the Kingdom within us. In this article, you’ll discover what it means to access God’s provision, create and multiply from within, and walk boldly in the authority given to you by Christ. Let’s explore how to live from the inside out, transforming not just our lives—but the world around us—through faith and the power of God’s Spirit.
God’s Supply: Everything You Need is Within
One incredible truth believers must embrace is that everything we could ever need or desire has already been made available by God, and astonishingly, He hasn’t stored these blessings somewhere unreachable—He’s placed them within us. The Kingdom of God doesn’t operate from lack or limitation. As a child of God, you are already equipped with an inexhaustible supply. When God assigns you a purpose, you won’t have to beg, plead, or rely on others for provision; you’ll find what you need within the Kingdom that lives inside you through Christ Jesus.
Beholding His Glory Changes Everything
There’s a powerful principle revealed in 2 Corinthians 3:18: as we spend time beholding the Lord—getting ‘face time’ with Him by studying and meditating on His Word—we are changed from glory to glory by His Spirit. Just as a child is easily influenced by repeated exposure (think of a youngster captivated by a superhero and starting to imitate them!), when we immerse ourselves in God’s Word, we begin to be transformed into His likeness. Over time, His promises and nature become part of us. The more you see yourself in Christ, the more you’ll start living out the supernatural life He’s promised.
Attracting God’s Provision by Identity
God’s Kingdom works on the principle that you don’t attract what you want, but what you are. When you internalize the truths of the Word, you’ll naturally draw in what aligns with your God-given identity. Believing God’s promises, clothing yourself in Christ each day, and meditating on your identity as His beloved causes faith to take over. You’re not pushing and striving; you’re under the influence of faith. Eventually, the promise of God becomes the force that holds you, leads you, and propels you to act with confidence and boldness.
The Kingdom Within: Jesus’ Eternal Lesson
In Luke 17:20-21, Jesus revealed a secret that still astounds and empowers today’s believers. When asked when the Kingdom would come, He replied, “The Kingdom of God does not come with observation… For behold, the kingdom of God is within you.” Every divine resource, miracle, and solution you could ever need is found not by looking outward, but by drawing from the Kingdom inside you. This is the source of an inexhaustible supply, perfectly outfitting you for every assignment, dream, or challenge God leads you into.
Living from the Inside Out
Living from the inside out means acting according to the reality of God’s Kingdom within you, rather than the limitations of the world around you. When you face a need, don’t look to the external first—search within, where God has already stored blessing, wisdom, creativity, favor, and spiritual authority. Your life is meant to be defined by what God has planted on the inside, not by the circumstances pressing from the outside.
Dominion by Design: God’s Blueprint for Creation
From the very beginning, God crafted humanity with intentional authority and purpose. In Genesis 1:26-28, God declares, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness, and let them have dominion…” This dominion is more than material control—it’s divine creative authority. God blessed Adam and Eve, saying, “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it.” These aren’t just commands for physical reproduction; they reveal our calling to create, multiply, and bring forth heaven on earth by using what’s inside us.
The Four-fold Mandate: Produce, Multiply, Replenish, Subdue
- Be Fruitful: To produce, to bring forth from your inner world something that never existed before. Maybe it’s a business, an idea, a ministry, or a solution to a problem. It starts as a vision within and grows into reality.
- Multiply: Don’t stop at one creation—multiply it. God’s principle is abundance! If you start a business, raise up others; if you share the Gospel, make disciples; if you write a song, write many more. Whatever God entrusts to you, grow it and expand it.
- Replenish: To replenish means to distribute and refresh. It’s not enough to produce and multiply, you’re called to pour out, renew, and bless others with what you’ve been given.
- Subdue: This means to take dominion and lead boldly in your sphere. Dominate circumstances, industries, or challenges by bringing Kingdom solutions. Remember, this world’s systems will attempt to dominate, but God’s people were commanded to steward and transform the earth for His glory.
From Prototype to Purpose: Living as a Speaking Spirit
Genesis 2 tells us God placed Adam in the Garden of Eden—a prototype of how the entire earth should look under God’s rule. This wasn’t just a lovely place to live, but a realm Adam was mandated to expand by faith and blessing. You, too, are called to create and cultivate your environment. No matter what you face—brokenness, chaos, or need—the blessing of God within you has been given to fix the curse and turn wasteland into abundance. As a ‘speaking spirit’
