The Story of Jacob: A Blessing Gained Through Deception

In Genesis, we read about Jacob disguising himself to receive his father Isaac’s blessing. Jacob says, “I am Esau, your firstborn.” Though Isaac sensed something strange—“The voice is Jacob’s, but the hands are Esau’s”—he still gave the blessing. Jacob received the blessing, but it wasn’t truly his—not yet. He had to pretend to be someone else to receive it.
