You’re watching Kingdom Connection with Jensen Franklin. In 2 Kings 9, the prophet Elisha instructs his servant to take a flask of oil and anoint Jehu, the son of Jehosaphat, to be king over Israel. When Jehu is anointed, he is told to rise from among his associates and take his place in leadership.

After Jehu receives his anointing, the people acknowledge his new role, laying garments down before him and proclaiming him king. This was a moment of divine destiny and transformation.

The story continues with a watchman observing Jehu’s approach. Despite initial attempts to question Jehu’s intentions, the king of Israel, Joram, soon realizes that Jehu is the one anointed by God. Jehu boldly confronts Joram, declaring that there can be no peace as long as the sins of his mother, Jezebel, persist.

As Jehu draws his bow and shoots Joram, the power of God’s anointing is evident. Joram’s death marks the beginning of God’s judgment on the house of Ahab, fulfilling prophecy.

Jezebel, upon hearing of Joram’s death, tries to maintain her dignity, but Jehu confronts her as well. She is thrown from the window, and her blood splatters on the wall. Her tragic end fulfills the prophetic word and further demonstrates God’s power and justice.

This incredible story shows us that God can bring about a powerful turnaround. No matter where you are in life, God is ready to transform you. It’s time for a change, and God’s anointing is the key to that transformation.
