Priscilla Shirer: Don’t Let the Enemy Steal Your Peace & Purpose | Praise on TBN

How Can We Pray For You? Have you signed up yet?

The enemy often tries to overwhelm us with fear, insecurity, anxiety, and feelings of inadequacy. This strategy keeps us paralyzed, unable to partake in God’s incredible plans. While His will is always fulfilled, we miss the blessing of being instruments in His work and witnessing firsthand how He uses us in His story. For that reason, I’m deeply grateful to God.

As an author, Bible teacher, speaker, and mother, balancing life can feel overwhelming. I’ve often asked myself, “How do I manage all of this?” It’s a question that stays with me because balance isn’t something we achieve once—it’s an ongoing journey. I believe God gives everyone something in their lives that constantly draws them back to Him. For me, that means kneeling in prayer and seeking His help, guidance, and direction.

In my 20 years of marriage to Jerry, raising our three sons, and juggling various roles, I’ve learned an important truth: balance may not be the most helpful concept. The idea of perfectly managing every aspect of life equally is often a recipe for stress and chaos. Instead, I’ve shifted my mindset to focus on alignment.

The Power of Alignment Over Balance
In each season of life, I’ve prayed, “Lord, show me what Your priorities are for me right now. Give me the clarity to discern these priorities and the courage to say no to everything else—even if it’s good but not right for this season.” Alignment allows us to invest fully in what matters most during specific periods of life.

For example, my priority in this season is mothering my teenage sons. I don’t want to be so busy ministering to others that I neglect tending to the garden of my own home. While I’m grateful for opportunities to serve in ministry, my family remains my primary ministry. By focusing on what truly matters and allowing God to lead, we can live with intention and purpose—even when we don’t do it perfectly.

God’s Grace in Every Season
We’re all on a journey, and none of us have it all figured out. But God is faithful, offering us guidance, help, protection, and leadership along the way.

The Birth of Going Beyond Ministries
When my husband and I married, I was leading small Bible studies here and there. People would invite me to teach, and I’d show up to share God’s Word, often with just a handful of women. At the time, I never imagined ministry would become my vocation. I had studied broadcast journalism and thought I’d be a news anchor.

But God had other plans. Over the past 20 years, the invitations never stopped, and I continued showing up to share God’s Word—in homes, churches, through books, and even on screen. Seeing this, my husband and I founded Going Beyond Ministries.

Our mission is simple: to inspire people to move beyond where they currently are in their relationship with God. There are always greater depths and higher heights to explore in faith. No one ever “arrives” at a place where they no longer need to know the Lord. Our ministry seeks to serve as a Divine agitator, stirring hearts to pursue God more fully in every aspect of life.

A Life of Purpose and Faith
I’m honored to live a life of ministry while homeschooling my boys, writing, teaching, and even stepping into new ventures like acting. Each role, whether at home or in public, is an opportunity to serve God and align with His will.

Through it all, I’ve learned that life isn’t about achieving perfect balance but about trusting God’s priorities for each season—and walking in faith.
