The Return
The Return #2328. This is the message Jonathan gave long before The Return: The National and Global Day of Prayer and Repentance. It opens up the mystery of the Sacred Assembly and how it changed the course of America and world history – more than once – From Solomon to Lincoln to Reagan and to now.*(Note: This was shared before The Return – It’s not the message he shared at The return)
Now we go to another nation.
America. America has been rising as a nation but practices a grievous sin of slavery.
And now it all comes to a head as the nation is split apart by a great civil war.
Abraham Lincoln would come to see the war as a judgment by God for the sin of slavery.
The war began in 18 61 caused more American bloodshed and death than any other war turned farms into battleground cities into devastations by the first half of the third year of the war.
Things were looking grim for America, for the Union, for the North.
That means for the unity of America for surviving in the East.
The confederate general Robert E Lee, he experiences his greatest successes, success after success against the union in the West.
The union armies are failing to take Vicksburg, Mississippi, which is their main goal, but they keep failing and there’s no end in sight and the people in the north are growing tired of the war and there’s danger of defection in the north.
There’s going to be an election coming up and Lincoln may not be voted.
They some are trying to get him out and sue for peace and say, let the confederate, let them have their way, which would bring America as we know it today to an end.
The South had a brilliant general in Robert E Lee often often destroying armies or, or winning against them that were much larger than him.
And his right hand man, considered one of the most brilliant military strategists in history is called General Stonewall Jackson.
He defeats armies several times his own. Lincoln. Now Lincoln is trying general after general and they keep failing him.
There is a danger that the Union effort is going to collapse, which again would mean the end of the United States as we know it.
And then something happened. What happened was the same thing that Solomon spoke of and Daniel did.
The United States Senate called on the president to issue a call for a National Day of prayer and humbling humiliation.
They called it. And if my people humble themselves and pray, Abraham Lincoln approved it and he issued a call to the nation for prayer a day of prayer, fasting humiliation or humbling the war torn nation.
He gave it to them and this was his proclamation.
Listen, it is the duty of nations as well as of men to own their dependence on the overruling power of God to confess their sins and transgressions in humble sorrow.
Yet with a short hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and pardon just like just like if my people and to recognize the sublime truth announced in the holy scriptures and proven by all history that those nations all alone only are blessed whose God is the Lord.
And in so much as we know by his divine law, nations, like individuals are subject to punishments and chastisements in this world.
May we not justly fear that this awful calamity which now desolates the land may be but a punishment inflicted upon us for our presumptuous sins and for to the needful end of our national reformation as a whole people, we have been the recipients of the choices bounties of heaven.
We’ve been preserved these many years in peace and prosperity.
We’ve grown in numbers, wealth and power as no other nation has ever grown.
But we have forgotten God.
We’ve forgotten the gracious hand that preserved us in peace and multiplied, enriched us and strengthened us.
And we vainly imagine in deceitfulness of our hearts that all these blessings were produced by our own, some superior wisdom and virtue of our own intoxicated with unbroken success.
We’ve become too self sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace.
Too proud to pray to the God who made us it behooves us then to humble ourselves before the offended power, to confess our national sins and to pray for clemency and forgiveness.
All this being done in sincerity and truth.
Let us then rest humbly in the hope, authorized by the divine teachings that the United Cry of the nation will be heard on high and answered with blessings no less than the pardon of our national sins and restoration of our now divided and suffering country to its former happy condition of unity and peace.
And then he wrote, well, he wrote, well, he wrote that he said, authorized by the divine teachings.
He’s referring of course to scripture. He actually says that out, right? What scripture is he referring to?
Undoubtedly, he said that the cry of the nation humbling ourselves and, and confessing if my people will humble themselves and pray.
And Lincoln write that, that we go for the pardon of our national sin.
I will forgive their sin and, and I will heal their land.
He says, and that we will be restored to our. That’s all if my people.
Second chronicle 7 14, when was the turning point of the civil war?
It came in the year 18 63 more, more specifically July 18 63 with two battles that are judged the turning point of the war that led the North to victory, led America to be preserved and the south to defeat.
The first was the most famous battle of the war.
The greatest bloodiest battle ever fought in the western hemisphere called the battle of Gettysburg.
The second not as famous as Gettysburg, but crucial was the battle of Vicksburg.
The battle of Gettysburg ended on July 3rd 18 63 the turning point of the war when 18 63 when was the National Day of Prayer and humbling.
It happened in 18 63 same year when before or after it happened before and then came, the turning point, the day of prayer was April 30th, 18 63 the National day of Prayer and humbling and repentance, the verge of May.
